A cerium oxide nanocomplex, a composition containing the cerium oxide nanocomplex as an active ingredient, and uses thereof for preventing or treating peritonitis are disclosed. The cerium oxide nanocomplex improves the biomedical stability, biocompatibility, and efficiency of the production process of nanoparticles while maintaining the excellent inhibitory activity against inflammation by applying a biocompatible polymer composed of an optimal combination. The cerium oxide nanocomplex may be used as an excellent therapeutic composition that may greatly improve patients' survival rate by effectively inhibiting inflammatory response and quickly blocking tissue damage at early stage of peritonitis when a radical inflammatory injury occurs because of the penetration of bacteria, foreign body and immune cells into a perforated organ in the abdominal cavity.

Liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer in the light-emitting areas are in a hybrid alignment. In the hybrid alignment, an alignment of the liquid crystal molecules gradually changes from a horizontal alignment to a vertical alignment. Liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer in the non-light-emitting areas are in a tilted alignment.

A polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device are provided which can prevent abrasion since the roughness and coefficient of friction of an outer base material of a polarizing plate are designed depending on the surface hardness of the outer base material by conducting studies and tests that are conducted into factors causing abrasion between the polarizing plate and an optical sheet and taking the results into account. Therefore, the problem of abrasion between the polarizing plate and the optical sheet associated with slim-profile liquid-crystal display devices can be solved, thereby achieving a slim design without cost increase.

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a hydrophilized hollow fiber membrane by a continuous process using an extruder. According to the method of the present invention, thermal curing agent in the form of a monomer or a oligomer is added to a polymer solution, and in the melt state before a separation membrane is manufactured, thermal polymerization occurs due to an initial reaction of a thermal initiator at the appropriate temperature within a cylinder of the extruder. Thus, a hydrophilic component is evenly distributed into the membrane at the micro-level, and the hydrophilic component is not washed out, resulting in very high stability. Another advantage is high economic value and efficiency because the process for hydrophilizing the membrane as well as the process for manufacturing the membrane is carried out by the continuous process using the extruder without using conventional extrusion equipment in the form of an agitator.
