A light beam scanning device includes a light source section, a deflector and a reflection type optical system. The light source section is provided with three laser light sources. These laser light sources utilizes different modulation systems depending on corresponding semiconductor lasers. That is, the red-light laser light source and the blue-light laser light source each utilize a direct modulation system and the green-light laser light source utilizes an external modulation system using an external modulator (AOD). Reflecting mirrors and, the deflector and an arcsine mirror, which form the reflection type optical system, are arranged sequentially along an optical path at the side of the light source section from which light is emitted. Accordingly, laser light emitted from the light source section is guided only by the reflection type optical system to a recording material. As a result, no correction for light beams of different wavelengths is required.

Image forming apparatus

Stimulating rays produced by a line light source are linearly irradiated onto an area of a stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image has been stored, the stimulating rays causing the sheet to emit light in proportion to an amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation. Light emitted from the exposed linear area of the sheet is received with a line sensor comprising photoelectric conversion devices arrayed along each of a length direction of the linear area of the stimulable phosphor sheet and a direction normal to the length direction. The sheet is moved with respect to the line light source and the line sensor and in a direction different from the length direction of the linear area of the sheet. Operation processing is performed on outputs of the photoelectric conversion devices, which outputs have been obtained at respective positions of movement and correspond to an identical site on the sheet.

Radiation image read-out method and apparatus

A light scanning system causes a light spot to scan a surface at a constant speed. The light scanning system includes a light source radiating a light bundle, a deflector which deflects the light bundle, a line image imaging optical system which images the light bundle on a deflecting surface of the deflector as a line image, and a scanning/imaging optical system which images the deflected light bundle on the surface as a light spot. The scanning/imaging optical system consists of a first aspheric mirror which is symmetric with respect to an axis of rotation and is disposed on the light inlet side and a second aspheric mirror which is anamorphic and is disposed on the light outlet side. The first aspheric mirror has a negative power in the light deflecting direction and the second aspheric mirror has a positive power in the light deflecting direction.

Light beam scanning system

In a condenser optical system for a light scanning system, a single lens focuses a light beam deflected by a reflecting surface of a deflector onto a surface to be scanned and causes the deflected light to scan the surface in a main scanning direction at a constant speed. A cylindrical mirror which has a refracting power only in a sub-scanning direction normal to the main scanning direction compensates for surface tilt of the reflecting surface. At least one surface of the single lens is toric to compensate for the surface tilt associated with the cylindrical mirror and the toric surface is aspheric in a main-scanning cross-section.

Condenser optical system for light scanning system

A radiation image read-out apparatus comprises a device for holding a stimulable phosphor sheet along a cylindrical surface, an optical element for transmitting one of stimulating rays and light emitted by the stimulable phosphor sheet and reflecting the other thereof, and a spinner, which is provided with a deflection mirror and a condensing lens. The deflection mirror reflects the stimulating rays coming from the optical element toward the stimulable phosphor sheet. The condensing lens is located in the optical path of the stimulating rays having been reflected by the deflection mirror and converges the stimulating rays on the stimulable phosphor sheet. The condensing lens also converges the emitted light at a predetermined converging position. The deflection mirror and the condensing lens are rotated together to scan the stimulating rays on the stimulable phosphor sheet in a main scanning direction. The stimulable phosphor sheet is moved in a sub-scanning direction. A light receiving face of a photodetector is located at a position, at which the light having a center wavelength in the wavelength distribution of the emitted light is converged by the condensing lens.

Radiation image read-out apparatus

An f.theta. lens comprises a first lens set having a positive or negative refracting power and a second lens set having a positive refracting power, which are located in that order from the side of a light deflector. The first lens set is composed of two lenses cemented together, and the second lens set is composed of a single lens. They satisfy the conditions

A radiation image read-out apparatus comprises a main scanning system which scans a stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image has been stored, with stimulating rays in a main scanning direction. The stimulating rays cause the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation. A sub-scanning system moves the stimulable phosphor sheet with respect to the stimulating rays in a direction approximately normal to the main scanning direction. A light guide member, which has a light input face extending along a main scanning line on the stimulable phosphor sheet, guides the emitted light entering the light guide member at its light input face to a light output face. A photodetector is connected to the light output face. A stimulating ray antireflection film is overlaid on the light input face, and further, may be overlaid over any provided reflection mirror. The stimulating ray antireflection film is designed so that the reflectivity of the stimulating rays from the stimulating ray antireflection film is lowest when the stimulating rays impinge thereupon at an angle of incidence which falls within the range of 30.degree. to 50.degree..
