A method for generating a secret key at a first node for data communication between the first node and a second node. A channel estimate of a communication channel between the first and second nodes is obtained. A time-frequency matrix associated with the communication channel is then obtained based on the time-frequency transformation of the channel estimate. The secret key is then produced based on the time-frequency matrix. Furthermore, a corresponding key generator may be provided for generating a secret key.

Each remote radio head may support multiple radio access technologies. The system may include a controller configured to control the circuit and the plurality of remote radio heads. The present invention is a circuit arrangement for a wireless cellular network. The present invention is directed to a communication device of a wireless communication network, the communication device including a message generator configured to generate a beacon message having a traffic indication map (TIM) information element (IE), wherein the TIM IE includes a partial virtual bitmap field including at least one cluster; a determiner configured to determine for at least one cluster information indicating whether data is available in the communication device to be transmitted to a plurality of communication terminals of the wireless communication network; an encoder configured to determine an encoding mode for the information depending on the information and to encode the information based on the encoding mode; and a transmitter configured to broadcast the beacon message to the plurality of communication terminals corresponding to the at least one cluster. Methods of simultaneously addressing a plurality of communication terminals in the wireless communication network are also disclosed.

Addressing multiple communication terminals in a wireless communication network

Methods and systems are proposed for transmitting data from a source () to a destination () via a relay station () having multiple antennae (). The relay station () receives from the source a message containing the data and a first cyclic prefix. It does this using each of its antennae (), so producing multiple respective received signals. In certain embodiments, the relay station () removes the first cyclic prefix from the received signals, replacing it with a new one. In other embodiments, the relay station () removes only a portion of the first cyclic prefix. In either case, the relay station () may apply space-time coding to generate second signals, which it transmits to the destination (), which extracts the data. Methods are also proposed for estimating parameters of the channel, to enable the destination () to decode the data.

Cyclic prefix schemes

A method of communication comprising determining whether to use distributing coding between a source (S), relay (R) and destination (D), based on a predetermined transmission rate; if the determination is positive, determining a forward error correction scheme using distributed Alamouti space-time coding, wherein the scheme is determined based on the predetermined transmission rate, a channel signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and a network topology; relaying coded data from the S to the D using the determined forward error correction.

Method of communication

Cooperative communication methods for a wireless communication network () and devices configured to perform such methods are disclosed herein. In a described embodiment, the network () includes a first communication device () and a second communication device (), each of the communication devices () being associated with respective users and configured to communicate with a common base station (). The cooperative communication method comprises the first communication device () transmitting a first message to the second communication device () for transmission to the base station () as a first routed message; and receiving a second message from the second communication device () for transmission to the base station () as a second routed message. In this way, the transmission is able to achieve diversity gains at the base station ().

Cooperative communication methods and devices

An analog space-time relay method and apparatus for a wireless communication relay channel is disclosed herein. In a specific embodiment, the analog space-time relay channel () includes first and second relay antennas () arranged to relay an information signal transmitted from a source station () to a destination station (). The method comprises the steps of: (i) receiving a first symbol sequence at the first relay antenna (), the first symbol sequence comprising the information signal and a first noise element; (ii) receiving a second symbol sequence at the second relay antenna (), the second symbol sequence comprising the information signal and a second noise element; (iii) transmitting a first signal by the first relay antenna (), the first signal being associated with the second symbol sequence received at the second relay antenna (); (iv) transmitting a second signal by the second relay antenna (), the second signal being associated with the first symbol sequence received at the first relay antenna (). Method and apparatus for deriving a complex conjugate for a symbol sequence and a frame header structure are also disclosed.

Analog space-time relay method and apparatus for a wireless communication relay channel

The wireless transmission of layered signals, in a described embodiment, uses multiple relay nodes () to implement cooperative diversity. The method includes: (i) receiving layered signals from a source node (), (ii) receiving, from a destination node (), a relay allocation parameter to implement a cooperative relay strategy with one or more other relay nodes (), and (iii) relaying the layered signals to the destination node () using the cooperative relay strategy.
