An annular blowout preventer includes an annular body including a central bore extending therethrough, a plurality of electric motors disposed circumferentially around the annular body; a packer assembly disposed within the annular body about the central bore; and a plurality of pusher plates disposed in the annular body; each pusher plate configured to radially engage the packer assembly. The packer assembly includes a packer element and a donut that circumferentially surrounds the packer element. The plurality of pusher plates is correspondingly connected to the plurality of electric motors via a connecting rod.

An electric bonnet includes a housing; a guide piston disposed in the housing; an electric motor having a motor shaft; a rear housing connected to the housing; a gearbox assembly disposed in the rear housing, the gearbox assembly being coupled to the motor shaft of the electric motor; and a roller screw assembly disposed in the rear housing. A first end of the roller screw assembly is connected to the gearbox assembly, and a second end of the roller screw assembly is connected to the guide piston. Rotation of the motor shaft of the electric motor transmits rotary motion to the gearbox assembly, which transforms the rotary motion into linear motion using the roller screw assembly. The linear motion of the roller screw assembly actuates the guide piston.

A technique facilitates reliable operation of a blowout preventer (BOP) system in a wide range of challenging environments. To enable dependable and rapid closing of the internal passageway of the BOP system, an annular closing system is employed. The annular closing system is fully electrically actuated and may comprise a variety of components which cooperate to provide reliable sealing of the internal passageway. Examples of those components comprise a packer which may be compressed inwardly to seal off flow along the interior passage. Additionally, a pusher mechanism is positioned in the annular closing system and is shiftable, e.g. linearly shiftable, such that its motion causes the packer to be compressed in the radially inward direction. At least one electrically operated rotary-to-linear actuator is actuatable to move the pusher mechanism when causing compression of the packer.

A method can include generating a graphical user interface that includes vector graphics representations of equipment of a system for well operations, a data graphic for rendering sensor data of the system, and a graphical control actuatable to issue a control instruction for control of the system, where the system includes an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and a blowout preventer (BOP), and where the UPS is selectively, operatively coupled to one or more electric actuators for changing a state of the BOP; responsive to operation of the system, receiving sensor data; and updating the data graphic based at least in part on the sensor data.

A control system for controlling pressure of fluid within a wellbore includes a rotating control device (RCD), a distribution manifold, a choke and kill (CK) manifold, and a managed pressure drilling (MPD) manifold fluidly connected with each other, a sensor operable to facilitate fluid measurements indicative of a property of the fluid, and a controller communicatively connected with the distribution manifold and the sensor. The controller is operable to receive the fluid measurements, cause the distribution manifold to direct the fluid discharged out of the wellbore via the RCD to flow through the MPD manifold to thereby permit the MPD manifold to control the pressure of the fluid within the wellbore, and cause the distribution manifold to direct the fluid discharged out of the wellbore via the RCD to flow through the CK manifold to thereby permit the CK manifold to control the pressure of the fluid within the wellbore.

A technique facilitates reliable operation of a blowout preventer (BOP) system in a wide range of challenging environments. To enable dependable and rapid closing of the internal passageway of the BOP system, an electronically actuated annular closing system is employed. The annular closing system may include, for example, a packer combined with a shift mechanism actuatable to compress the packer inwardly so as to seal off the internal passageway. An electronic actuator is coupled with the shift mechanism to enable selective actuation of the shift mechanism to achieve the sealed closing of the internal passageway.
