An apparatus, which is for connecting a first tubular and a second tubular in a downhole environment, includes a first component having a first component uphole end and a first component downhole end. The first component uphole end includes an uphole connection configured to connect to the first tubular. The apparatus includes a second component having a second component uphole end and a second component downhole end. The second component uphole end includes an extending portion and the second component downhole end includes a downhole connection configured to connect to the second tubular. The apparatus includes a weak point connection releasably connecting the first component downhole end to the second component uphole end. The weak point connection is releasable by applying uphole force on the first tubular, and the extending portion of the second component is exposed uphole by release of the weak point connection.

Method and apparatus for retrieving tubing using disconnectable sub in a wellbore

Methods and systems for controlling fluids in a wellbore are described. The methods and systems include running a production string into the wellbore, the production string includes production tubing and completion components with a first packer with a first control line and a backup packer with a second control line; setting the first packer in the wellbore in response to a signal on the first control line; producing hydrocarbons from the wellbore with the first packer set and the backup packer unset; and setting the backup packer in the wellbore in response to a signal on the second control line.

Systems and methods for controlling a flow of fluid within a subterranean well includes a sensored electronic valve assembly having a one way valve member operable to allow a flow of fluids in a first direction through the one way valve member and to prevent the flow of fluids in a second direction through the one way valve member. An electronic circuit includes a battery having a battery life of a predetermined time and a command center. A sensor can detect a valve open signal and to deliver the valve open signal to the command center. An opening device is operable to move the one way valve member to a valve open position upon receipt of an engagement signal from the command center. The opening device is inoperable after the predetermined time. The one way valve member is operable to function as a one way valve after the predetermined time.

A method of removing fluid from a well using a downhole pump includes deploying the downhole pump to a vertical position within a production tubing disposed in the well, securing the downhole pump to the production tubing at the vertical position, powering a motor of the downhole pump with an electrical line of the downhole pump that extends from a surface of the well and that terminates at a profile of the downhole pump, and activating the motor to pump fluid out of the well.

An example system is configured to manage the storage of water underground using a sensor-based grid system. The example system includes wells, each of which is between a surface and an underground formation capable of storing water received from the surface. The example system includes pumps, at least of which is associated with each well to force water from the surface, through the well, into the underground formation. The example system includes sensors, at least of which is associated with each well. The sensors are configured to communicate sensor data wirelessly. The example system also includes a computing system configured to receive sensor data from each of the sensors and to control operations of one or more of the pumps based on the sensor data.

A downhole tool includes a top sub-assembly configured to couple to a downhole conveyance operable to move the downhole tool through a wellbore; a housing coupled to the top sub-assembly and including a retention sub-assembly mounted in the housing and a slot formed in a downhole end of the housing and shaped to engage a mudline abandonment cap; and a locking sleeve coupled to the retention sub-assembly and moveable, by the retention sub-assembly, to adjustably lock the slot to the mudline abandonment cap.
