An apparatus for wireless communication includes a memory and a processor coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to send a data session establishment request to establish a data session with a network device using a wireless communication network. The data session establishment request has a first field to indicate a requested network slice for the data session. The processor is further to receive an indication of a granted network slice for the data session and to receive an indication of a back-off timer value from the network device. The processor is further configured, after expiration of a back-off timer based on the back-off timer value, to send a first message associated with the granted network slice and to send a second message having a second field corresponding to the first field of the data session establishment request.

Apparatus and method of wireless communication based on a back-off timer

Various embodiments include methods of managing mixed data flow types in communications in a network apparatus. The network apparatus may determine data flow priority levels of a plurality of data flows, identify high-priority data flows associated with a particular LAN interface, and assign a designated public IP address range or a designated public port range for the high-priority data. Upon receiving an uplink, the apparatus may select a source port number from the previously reserved range dedicated for high-priority data flows in response to the received packet matching one or more prioritized data flow packet filters, modify the received uplink packet, and forward the modified uplink packet to the next hop in the path towards the destination IP address in response to determining that the packet is enqueued successfully.

Prioritizing data flows

A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE) includes: operating in a Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA) mode or a Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) mode in which a first subscriber identity module (SIM) is designated as a default data subscription (DDS); determining a recommendation to change the DDS from the first SIM to a second SIM at a modem; informing a user of the recommendation to change the DDS; changing the DDS in response to, at least in part, the recommendation and an input from the user; updating a first state variable to indicate a state of the DDS; and routing internet data to the second SIM.

Management of default data subscription (DDS) in multi-subscriber identity module devices

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may establish, via a first subscriber service, at least one protocol data unit (PDU) session. The UE may receive a first internet protocol (IP) address associated with the first subscriber service. The UE may register the first subscriber service with an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) network using the first IP address. Techniques for carrier prioritization in multi-subscriber identity module features

Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support mechanisms for identifying hyper frame number (HFN) desynchronization conditions and/or for triggering HFN resynchronization in a wireless communication system. In aspects, an HFN desynchronization condition is identified based on Ethernet frame validation. For example, aspects of the present disclosure provide mechanisms for validating and Ethernet frame. An HFN desynchronization condition is identified or detected when an Ethernet frame is determined to be corrupt based on the Ethernet frame validation in accordance with aspects herein. In some aspects, such as in Ethernet header compression (EHC) protocol implementations, an HFN desynchronization condition may be identified based on a determination that a deciphered context identification (CID) is not a valid CID (e.g., is not a CID in a set of valid CIDs).

Aspects directed towards Quality of Service (QoS) flow remapping are disclosed. In an example, upon detecting a mapping reconfiguration of a first QoS flow from a first data radio bearer (DRB) to another DRB, a Service Data Adaptation Protocol (SDAP) control protocol data unit (PDU) is generated indicating that a final SDAP data PDU associated with the first QoS flow has been transmitted on the first DRB. The SDAP control PDU is then transmitted via the first DRB. In another example, upon detecting a mapping reconfiguration of a first QoS flow from a first DRB to another DRB, an end marker parameter is set in an SDAP header of a first SDAP data PDU received from an upper layer after the mapping reconfiguration indicating that the first SDAP data PDU is a final SDAP data PDU associated with the first QoS flow transmitted on the first DRB.

Management of Default Data Subscription (DDS) in multi-subscriber identity module devices

In a wireless network, a user equipment (UE) may support reflective quality of service (QoS), where QoS applied to uplink packets is implicitly derived from downlink packets. For example, when the UE receives a downlink packet that includes a reflective QoS (RQoS) indicator and a QoS flow identifier (QFI), the UE may apply the same QoS associated with the downlink packet to an uplink packet with one or more attributes that match the downlink packet. However, for a received downlink encapsulating security payload (ESP) packet that includes an RQoS indicator and a QFI, a modem cannot determine an uplink security parameters index (SPI) and downlink SPI pairing needed to enable RQoS because the uplink/downlink SPI pairing is known only by the upper layer. Accordingly, some aspects described herein enable the modem to learn uplink/downlink SPI pairings for ESP packets and thereby enable RQoS for ESP packets.

Reflective quality of service for encapsulating security payload packets

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may start, at a default data subscription (DDS) of the UE, a timer associated with a non-Third Generation Partnership Project (non-3GPP) tunnel over a cellular network based at least in part on a DDS switching at the UE. The UE may determine, at the DDS, that the non-3GPP tunnel over the cellular network is available prior to an expiry of the timer. The UE may perform a handover of a non-3GPP tunnel over data connection to the DDS based at least in part on the DDS switching at the UE and the non-3GPP tunnel over the cellular network being available prior to the expiry of the timer. Aspects of the present disclosure provide apparatus, methods, processing systems, and computer readable mediums for updating QoS configurations at a user equipment (UE). An example method generally includes receiving, from a network entity, quality of service (QoS) information, a QoS identifier associated with the QoS information, and a bearer context associated with the QoS information in one of a modify bearer context request message, an activate default bearer context request message, or an activate dedicated bearer context request message; and updating a QoS configuration using the QoS information based on whether the UE is already configured with QoS information associated with the QoS identifier for a bearer context different from the bearer context associated with the QoS information received in the modify bearer context request message, activate default bearer context request message, or activate dedicated bearer context request message.

Processing mapped 5G system (5GS) quality of service (QoS) information in evolved packet system (EPS)

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for implementing reflective quality of service (RQoS) in wireless communication systems. A method for implementing RQoS that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) generally includes receiving a plurality of downlink user data packets from a first base station (BS), determining at least one reflective quality of service (RQoS) mapping rule for one or more uplink packet transmissions based on a subset of the plurality of downlink user data packets, filtering the plurality of downlink user data packets based on the at least one RQoS mapping rule, and forwarding the plurality of downlink user data packets to a corresponding application entity of the UE based on the filtering.
