Processes of polymerizing polyolefins and synthesis of activators. The polymerization processes include polymerizing one or more (C-C)α-olefin monomers in the presence of at least one catalyst and at least one co-catalyst to produce a polyolefin. The co-catalyst includes a cation and an anion, in which the anion has a structure having a vinyl terminated alkene, one boron atom or more than one boron atoms, and at least four halogen atoms. The anion of the co-catalysts is incorporated into a polymer chain of the polyolefin.

Alkene functionalized activators and their use in electrical applications

A composition includes a silyl hydride (having at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom per molecule) and a fluorinated triarylborane Lewis acid. In the method, the Lewis acid catalyzes reaction of silicon bonded hydrogen atoms from the silyl hydride and water, thereby forming a siloxane bond in the resulting product. The composition and method can be used to form siloxane intermediates and cured networks.

Composition and method for silyl hydride reaction catalyzed by fluorinated arylborane Lewis acids

A polyfunctional organohydrogensiloxane is prepared using a fluorinated triarylborane Lewis acid as catalyst. The polyfunctional organohydrogensiloxane may be formulated into release coating compositions. Alternatively, the polyfunctional organohydrogensiloxane may be further functionalized with a curable group to form a clustered functional organosiloxane. The clustered functional organosiloxane may be formulated into thermal radical cure adhesive compositions.

Polyolefin formulation

A composition and method can be used in the preparation of various siloxanes. The composition and method employ a fluorinated triarylborane Lewis acid, a hydrocarbonoxy-functional organosilicon compound, and a silyl hydride. The fluorinated triarylborane Lewis acid catalyzes reaction of a hydrocarbonoxy moiety (from the organosilicon compound) and a silicon-bonded hydrogen atom (from the silyl hydride) to form a siloxane bond.

A chemical agent useful for controlling pests is disclosed. The agent can be a thiol, such as a cyclic thiol according to Formula I. The agent can be used to react with a targeted biochemical analyte secreted by pests, such as bed bugs, to provide an adduct. The agent can be useful in a pest control device, system, or method for detecting pests, which can involve use of a controller and a sensor cell coated with composition containing the agent. The disclosure also describes the adduct obtained from the agent and the analyte, as well as a composition containing the agent or adduct.
