A battery rack includes: a housing; a module unit provided in the housing, including a plurality of battery cells, and having at least one vent hole; and a cooling unit provided to face the vent hole in the housing, and including a cooling line in which a coolant is provided, wherein the cooling line is provided so that at least a portion of an outer periphery thereof is melted by heat generated from the module unit to supply the coolant toward the vent hole.

A battery module includes a battery sub-module including a cell support member, at least one battery cell accommodated in the cell support member, and a case provided to partially surround the at least one battery cell, and a first barrier disposed on a first side of the battery sub-module, wherein the at least one battery cell is enclosed and sealed by the cell support member and the case, and the first barrier includes a first protrusion configured to press a part of the case inwardly of the battery sub-module.

Battery module

A battery module includes a cell support unit accommodating at least one or more secondary battery cells, a body frame member on which a plurality of the cell support units are installed, and a cover member disposed between adjacent cell support units. The cover member includes a fixed plate portion fixed between the adjacent cell support units, and a flip portion connected to the fixed plate portion and disposed between electrode tabs of the secondary battery cells adjacent to each other to separate a space between the electrode tabs externally, the flip portion being pushed by internal gas or flame of the secondary battery cells discharged due to rupturing of the secondary battery cells, to be position-moved so that the space between the electrode tabs communicate externally.

A battery module is proposed. The battery module includes a plurality of battery sub-modules, and a front cover part configured to cover an outermost stacking surface of the plurality of stacked battery sub-modules. The front cover part includes a front plate including a contact terminal electrically connected to an outside, a bus bar electrically connecting the plurality of battery sub-modules to each other, and a disconnection induction bus bar coupled to an inside end of the contact terminal to press and contact the bus bar, and a switching slider configured to slide between the bus bar and the disconnection induction bus bar.

A battery sub-packing unit includes a plurality of secondary battery cells, a cell support member including a seating portion for accommodating the plurality of secondary battery cells, and a venting inducing portion connecting the seating portion to an external area, and a case member provided to surround the secondary battery cell accommodated in the seating portion and to seal around the secondary battery cell.

An energy storage system includes a battery module including a plurality of secondary battery cells and an electrode tab disposed on one or both sides; and a housing accommodating a module stack in which the plurality of battery modules are stacked, wherein the housing includes a first cover disposed to oppose at least one side surface of the module stack on which the electrode tab is disposed, and a second cover disposed to oppose at least one of the side surfaces of the module stack on which the electrode tab is not disposed, and wherein a flame passage is formed between the first cover and the module stack, and a cooling passage is formed between the second cover and the module stack.
