A net negative charge is used to eliminate silver migration in an EL lamp. An electrode containing silver, either the entire electrode, a bus bar on the electrode, or a contact area on the electrode, receives a net negative charge while the EL lamp is being driven with alternating current. The net negative charge can be provided by the driver itself or by a current source, such as a battery or a charged capacitor; or by asymmetric current means in the current path of the EL lamp, including the lamp itself.

Eliminating silver migration in EL lamps

An electrically conductive silicone composition comprising an electrically conductive filler; organopolysiloxane mixture comprising a catalyst which promotes the addition of Si-bonded hydrogen onto alkenyl multiple bonds; an organopolysiloxane having at least two alkenyl groups per molecule; an organopolysiloxane having at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; optionally, a fluid organopolysiloxane having a viscosity less than about 1000 centipoise; and optionally, an organopolysiloxane gel formulation, the composition, when cured, having a Shore A Durometer hardness of less than or equal to about 60 measured according to ASTMD-2240 and an electrical resistivity of less than or equal to about 10ohm-cm.

Electrically conductive silicones and method of manufacture thereof

A thermoformable polyurethane foam having excellent compression set resistance, and a thermoformable polyurethane foam having excellent compression set resistance and shape retention under load. In another embodiment, at least one additional layer of a polyurethane foam is integrally bonded to the thermoformable foam. A moisture management system for polyurethane foams is also described. The foams have particular utility as shoe sole inserts.

Polyurethane foams and method of manufacture thereof

Compositions for the formation of temperature resistant, tough, flame retardant polyurethane foams, comprising a low VOC polyisocyanate component wherein the isocyanate is a low functionality isocyanate; a low VOC active-hydrogen containing component substantially reactive with the low functionality isocyanate to form a polyurethane; a surfactant composition; and a catalyst component, wherein the total mass loss of the foam is less than 1% by weight as measured by ASTM E595. The foams are useful as gasketing materials, for example.
