A hydroprocessing catalyst with improved performance has been produced that involves an intimately mixed unsupported metal oxide with a zeolite or other acid function. The intimate mixing allows an intimate interaction between the unsupported metal oxide and the acid function. The hydroprocessing catalyst may be used alone or may be incorporated with a portion of a conventional hydrocracking catalyst.

High activity and high distillate yield hydrocracking catalysts with intimate interaction between unsupported metal oxide and zeolite

A catalyst composition comprising a support comprising a mixture of amorphous silica-alumina and non-zeolitic alumina comprising no more than 75 wt % amorphous silica-alumina and having a ratio of moles of silicon to moles of aluminum in the range of about 0.05 to about 0.50. A first hydrogenation metal comprising platinum, a second hydrogenation metal from Group VIIB or Group VIII of the Periodic Table other than platinum and an optional third metal from Group IA of the Periodic Table may be deposited on the support. The ratio of moles of silicon to the moles of the first hydrogenation metal, the second hydrogenation metal and the optional third metal on the support may be between about 15 and about 75.

Composition for opening polycyclic rings in hydrocracking

Embodiments of a method for producing a diesel range material having improved cold flow properties are provided. In one embodiment, the method includes the steps of providing a waxy diesel range feedstock, producing an intermediary product stream containing a predetermined amount of oxygenated organocompounds from the waxy diesel range feedstock, and contacting the intermediary product stream with a dewaxing catalyst under process conditions at which the oxygenated organocompounds chemically interact with the dewaxing catalyst to convert a portion of the n-paraffins within the intermediary product stream to iso-paraffins while minimizing cracking of the diesel range material.

Methods for producing diesel range materials having improved cold flow properties

One exemplary embodiment can be a process for upgrading one or more hydrocarbons boiling in a naphtha range including less than about 5%, by weight, one or more alkenes and about 2,000-about 5,000 wppm, S, comprised in one or more sulfur-containing compounds, based on the weight of the one or more hydrocarbons. The process can include contacting the one or more hydrocarbons with a catalyst. The catalyst may include about 0.1-about 10%, by weight, NiO, about 5-about 50%, by weight, MoO, and about 0.1-about 10%, by weight, P, with the balance of the catalyst comprising AlO. The process can obtain an upgraded one or more hydrocarbons having a thiol concentration of no more than about 20 wppm, S, based on the sulfur comprised in one or more thiol compounds divided by the weight of the upgraded one or more hydrocarbons.

Process for upgrading one or more hydrocarbons boiling in a naphtha range

Provided is a process for producing, in a single step, hydrocarbon fractions useful as diesel fuel or as a component of diesel fuel, from a mixture of a biological origin containing esters of fatty acids and, optionally, aliquots of free fatty acids. The process comprises the contemporaneous hydrodeoxygenation and hydroisomerization of the mixture of a biological origin, with the formation of linear and branched paraffins. The process is carried out in the presence of a catalytic composition comprising an amorphous carrier of an acidic nature and a metallic component containing one or more metals of group VIII.

Process for the production of hydrocarbons, useful for motor vehicles, from mixtures of a biological origin

Methods are disclosed for the hydrotreating and hydrocracking of highly aromatic distillate feeds such as light cycle oil (LCO) to produce ultra low sulfur gasoline and diesel fuel. Optimization of hydrotreater severity improves the octane quality of the gasoline or naphtha fraction. In particular, the operation of the hydrotreater at reduced severity to allow at least about 20 ppm by weight of organic nitrogen into the hydrocracker feed is shown to lead to these important benefits. Post-treating of the hydrocracker effluent over an additional hydrotreating catalyst bed may be desired to meet specifications for ultra low sulfur fuel components.

Combination of mild hydrotreating and hydrocracking for making low sulfur diesel and high octane naphtha

A process has been developed for producing diesel boiling range fuel from renewable feedstocks such as plant oils, animal fats and oils, and greases. The process involves treating a renewable feedstock by hydrogenating and deoxygenating to provide a diesel boiling range fuel hydrocarbon product. If desired, the hydrocarbon product can be isomerized to improve cold flow properties. A portion of the hydrocarbon product is recycled to the treatment zone to increase the hydrogen solubility of the reaction mixture.

Production of diesel fuel from biorenewable feedstocks

A process has been developed for producing diesel boiling range fuel from renewable feedstocks such as plant and animal fats and oils. The process involves treating a renewable feedstock by hydrogenating and deoxygenating i.e. decarboxylating, decarbonylating, and hydrodeoxygenating to provide a hydrocarbon fraction useful as a diesel boiling range fuel. A sulfur containing component is added to drive the conversion preferentially through carbonylation and carbonylation with reduced hydrodeoxygenation. If desired, the hydrocarbon fraction can be isomerized to improve cold flow properties.

Production of diesel fuel from biorenewable feedstocks with lower hydrogen consumption

A process and catalyst for the selective hydrodesulfurization of a naphtha containing olefins. The process produces a naphtha stream having a reduced concentration of sulfur while maintaining the maximum concentration of olefins.

Selective naphtha desulfurization process and catalyst

A process is disclosed for enhancing the production of light olefins using a catalyst with small pores. The catalyst comprises a molecular sieve having 10 membered rings with channels of limited length. The molecular sieve has a high silica to alumina ratio and has pores sized to limit production of aromatics in the cracking process.

Catalytic naphtha cracking catalyst and process

A method is provided for converting a hydrocarbon feedstock in the naphtha boiling range to light olefins. The method includes contacting the hydrocarbon feedstock with a zeolitic material having a crystal size from 50 to 300 nanometers, having a silica to alumina ratio greater than 200 and where the zeolitic material has a silicalite structure.

Catalysts comprising a combination of molecular sieve having a pore diameter of from about 4 to 8 angstroms and a catalytically-effective amount of molybdenum hydrogenation component in an amorphous aluminum phosphate binder provide processes for isomerizing xylene and dealkylating ethylbenzene in feed streams that exhibit stability, selectivity and low ring loss.
