Provided are a host-group-containing polymerizable monomer usable as a starting material for producing a macromolecular material with a high degree of freedom in material design, and excellent toughness and strength; a macromolecular material produced using the host-group-containing polymerizable monomer; and a method for producing the macromolecular material. The host-group-containing polymerizable monomer according to the present invention is a host-group-containing polymerizable monomer, and the host group is a monovalent group formed by removing one hydrogen atom or hydroxy group from a cyclodextrin derivative. The cyclodextrin derivative has such a structure that the hydrogen atom of at least one hydroxy group of a cyclodextrin is replaced with a group selected from the group consisting of a hydrocarbon group, an acyl group, and —CONHR wherein R represents a methyl group or an ethyl group.

Host-group-containing polymerizable monomer, polymer material, method for producing same, and clathrate compound and method for producing same

Provided are a composition for polymerization from which a macromolecular material that contains a host-group-introduced polymer with excellent energy to failure can be produced without using a solvent; a polymer of the composition; and a method for producing the polymer. The composition for polymerization contains a solution containing a first polymerizable compound and a host-group-containing polymerizable compound that is dissolved in the first polymerizable compound, wherein the host group present in the host-group-containing polymerizable compound is a group formed by removing one hydrogen atom or hydroxy group from a cyclodextrin, and wherein the cyclodextrin is at least one cyclodextrin selected from the group consisting of &#x3b1;-cyclodextrin, &#x3b2;-cyclodextrin, and &#x3b3;-cyclodextrin.

Composition for polymerization, polymer of same and method for producing polymer

An object of the present invention is to provide a macromolecular material that exhibits excellent elongation. The first macromolecular material of the present invention contains the first polymer containing the first structural unit and the second polymer containing the second structural unit. The first structural unit has a guest group in its side chain, and the second structural unit has a host group in its side chain. At least one of the first and the second polymers contains at least one fluorine group. The second macromolecular material of the present invention contains the first structural unit having a guest group in its side chain, the second structural unit having a host group in its side chain, and the third structural unit other than the first and second structural units. At least one of the first, the second, and the third structural units contains at least one fluorine group.
