The present invention relates to a chemically strengthened glass satisfying A[MPa] of 600 or more, A[MPa] of 50 or more, B[μm] of 6 or less, B[μm] of 10% or more of t [μm], C [MPa] of −30 or less, and A/B[MPa/μm] of 100 or more when the chemically strengthened glass has a thickness t [μm] and a profile of a stress value [MPa] at a depth×[μm] from a glass surface is approximated by an error least-squares method in a region of 0<x<3t/8 using the following function while defining a compressive stress as positive and a tensile stress as negative: Aerfc(x/B)+Aerfc(x/B)+C, in which erfc is a complementary error function, and relations of A>Aand B<Bare satisfied.

Chemically strengthened glass

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a glass for chemical strengthening that exhibits a high strength after chemical strengthening and is resistant to devitrification. The present invention relates to a glass for chemical strengthening that contains, expressed as mol % on an oxide basis, 55 to 70% SiO, 10 to 25% AlO, 1 to 20% LiO, 0 to 8% CaO, 0 to 8% SrO, and 0 to 5% ZrO, in which the sum of the contents of CaO and SrO is 1.5 to 10%, the sum of the contents of NaO and KO is 3 to 11%, and the value X given by the formula ([LiO]+[KO])/[AlO] is 0.1 to 1.1.

A glass for chemical strengthening contains, in mole percentage on an oxide basis, 58 to 80% of SiO, 13 to 18% of AlO, 0 to 5% of BO, 0.5 to 4% of PO, 4 to 10% of LiO, 5 to 14% of NaO, 0 to 2% of KO, 0 to 11% of MgO, 0 to 5% of CaO, 0 to 20% of SrO, 0 to 15% of BaO, 0 to 10% of ZnO, 0 to 1% of TiO, and 0 to 2% of ZrO. A value of X is 30000 or more. The value of X is calculated based on the formula, X=SiO&#xd7;329+AlO&#xd7;786+BO&#xd7;627+PO&#xd7;(&#x2212;941)+LiO&#xd7;927+NaO&#xd7;47.5+KO&#xd7;(&#x2212;371)+MgO&#xd7;1230+CaO&#xd7;1154+SrO&#xd7;733+ZrO&#xd7;51.8, by using the contents in mole percentage on an oxide basis of components.

A glass for chemical strengthening has a Young's modulus E of 70 GPa or more. The glass satisfies X+X+Xbeing 1760 or less. Here, Xis a numerical value equivalent to a value [unit: kPa/&#xb0; C.] obtained by multiplying the Young's modulus E by an average coefficient &#x3b1; of thermal expansion at 50&#xb0; C. to 350&#xb0; C., Xis a numeral value equivalent to a value of a temperature Tf [unit: &#xb0; C.] at which a viscosity of the glass reaches 100 MPa&#xb7;s, and Xis a numerical value equivalent to a value of a difference [unit: 10Pa&#xb7;s] between the viscosity (100 MPa&#xb7;s) at the Tf and a viscosity &#x3b7;at a temperature 10&#xb0; C. higher than the Tf.

Chemically strengthened glass and method for manufacturing chemically strengthened glass

A glass ball has a density of 2.3 to 3.2 g/cm, a Young's modulus of 60 to 150 GPa, and an average coefficient of thermal expansion at 50 to 350&#xb0; C. being 40&#xd7;10to 120&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. The glass ball is formed of a glass material including, as represented by mole percentage based on oxides, 30 to 75 mol % of SiO, 2 to 30 mol % of AlO, and 5 to 25 mol % of RO, where R is at least one kind selected from Li, Na and K. The glass ball includes a compressive stress layer in a surface thereof.
