A server issues a service key for using a designated vehicle and a plurality of one-time authentication keys based on a request from the mobile terminal, and distributes the one-time authentication key to the mobile terminal. The one-time authentication key is a disposable authentication key generated based on the service key, and has an expiration date. The one-time authentication key is consumed when the vehicular device authenticates the mobile terminal as a communication partner. The mobile terminal replaces the one-time authentication key stored in the mobile terminal at any time.

A short-range wireless communication system mounted on a vehicle includes a master device and slave devices. Each of the master device and slave devices is a short-range wireless communication device that communicates with a mobile terminal located in a communication range to perform a wireless communication. The master device includes a mobile terminal detection unit detecting the mobile terminal located in a communication range of the master device and an activation control unit performing an activation control to activate the slave devices in response to a detection of the mobile terminal by the mobile terminal detection unit. Each slave device is maintained in a deactivated state until activation control is performed by the activation control unit of the master device. Each slave device is activated when the activation control is performed by the activation control unit of the master device.

Short-range wireless communication system and short-range wireless communication device

A user identification system is provided, which includes an in-vehicle apparatus used by multiple users and a vehicular portable device carried by a user acting as a driver and associated with the in-vehicle apparatus. The vehicular portable device detects received signal strength of signals received from the portable terminals at multiple time points, and based on the received signal strength detected by the received signal strength detector, determines a driver terminal which is the portable terminal carried by the user acting as the driver. The vehicular portable device determines as the driver terminal the portable terminal that provides a smallest degree of change of the received signal strength detected multiple times.

User identification system and vehicular portable device

A user identification system is provided. In the user identification system, an in-vehicle apparatus specifies a position of a vehicular portable device with reference to a vehicle and determines whether the vehicular portable device exists in a predetermined identification area. Based on determining that the vehicular portable device exists in the identification area, the in-vehicle apparatus transmits an instruction signal instructing the vehicular portable device to specify a driver terminal. Based on reception signal strength detected during a time period determined by a time point of receipt of the instruction signal, the vehicular portable device determines the driver terminal.

An on-vehicle device, which is to be mounted on a vehicle, includes a wireless communication unit which is connected to a mobile terminal located within a communication range to perform wireless communication with the mobile terminal, and provides a service using the wireless communication in the wireless communication unit. The on-vehicle device further includes a parking determination unit which determines whether or not the vehicle is parked and a communication range changing unit which narrows, when the parking determination unit determines that the vehicle is parked, the communication range of the wireless communication unit such that the communication range is narrower than that before the parking determination unit determines that the vehicle is parked.

A communication unit connects an e-mail data transfer protocol to transfer e-mail data items with an external device. An e-mail data storage unit stores the e-mail data items transferred from the external device. The control unit does not cause the external device to transfer the e-mail data items when the e-mail data transfer protocol is connected and when a total number of subjects of the e-mail data items and a data content of a latest e-mail data item stored in the external device respectively coincide with a total number of subjects of the e-mail data items and a data content of a latest e-mail data item stored in the e-mail data storage unit, at the time point when the e-mail data transfer protocol is connected between the communication unit and the external device.

A short-range wireless communication apparatus comprising an own connection device and a control device is disclosed. The own connection device is capable of connecting a first predetermined communication protocol to a communication-destination-side connection device. The control device performs a first connection process of connecting the first predetermined communication protocol between the own connection device and the communication-destination-side connection device. The control device performs the first connection process at a time that is outside a period during which a second connection process of connecting a second predetermined communication protocol between the communication-destination-side connection device and a different connection device is performed.

An in-vehicle apparatus selects, as a profile connection mode, one connection mode out of a first connection mode and a second connection mode, and performs profile connection using the selected one connection mode. The first connection mode is to transmit a profile connection request signal to a communication partner so as to start a connection procedure; the second connection mode is to wait for reception of a profile connection request signal from the communication partner for a predetermined time so as to start the connection procedure. A control circuit of an the in-vehicle apparatus repeatedly performs a Bluetooth connection operation to connect to both of registered cellular phones and registered portable AV players in such a manner that, if an HFP connection has already been established to a cellular phone prior to an AVP connection to a portable AV player, the control circuit performs one round of AVP connection attempts to all of the registered portable AV players according to a priority order, prior to performing connection attempts to connect other data communication type profile to the cellular phone. The subject apparatus comprises: a communication disconnection detection device that, in cases where a first profile is connected between the subject apparatus and the another apparatus, detects whether or not the first profile is disconnected due to the subject apparatus' non-acceptance of a connection request of a second profile sent from the another apparatus; and a communication re-connection device that, in response to disconnection of the first profile detected by the communication disconnection detection device, re-connects the first profile with the another apparatus.
