A camera body with which it is possible to improve the effect of shake correction, a camera accessory, and an information transmission method. The camera body of the present invention is a camera body to which a camera accessory can be detachably mounted, and is provided with: a movable section which is movable to correct shaking of the camera body; a detection unit which detects the shake and outputs a detection signal; a calculation unit which, on the basis of the detection signal, calculates an amount of movement of the movable section; and a transmission unit which transmits, to the camera accessory, body-side information the calculation unit uses to calculate the amount of movement.

A blur correction device comprises a blur correction optical system that corrects an image blur caused by a vibration; a drive device that drives the blur correction optical system; a locking device that locks the blur correction optical system when an image blur correction is not executed; a gravitational direction detection device that detects a direction of a gravitational force applied to the blur correction optical system; and a control device that controls drive of the drive device and the locking device. After stopping an operation executed by the drive device to correct the image blur, the control device controls the drive device so as to reduce an extent to which the blur correction optical system having been locked by the locking device is allowed to move along the gravitational direction.

There is provided a shake detection mechanism in which a determination portion for determining the supporting or fixation condition of a device including the shake detection mechanism is built. The determination portion separately performs detection of a stably supported condition and detection of a non-stably supported condition. The determination portion stops determining the fixation condition when the device is presumably vibrating.

A camera is provided which has a vibration detection unit that detects vibration, a photographic focal length detection unit which detects the focal length of the photographic optical system, and a distance-measurement unit that measures the distance to the object being photographed. The vibration compensation device employs drive motors as a vibration compensation unit. The drive motors have a start up time which is at least as fast as the acceleration of a vibration having roughly a sine wave shape with a frequency of 10 Hz and a maximum velocity of 7.5 mm/sec. Such a motor is able to reach the maximum velocity of the vibration in under 25 ms. Additionally, a correct compensating coefficient calculation unit is provided which, from the output of the photographic focal length detection unit and the output of the distance-measurement unit, calculates a correct compensation coefficient for determining how much to change the optical axis of the photographic optical system relative to the output of the vibration detection unit. The vibration compensation device compensates for vibrations by driving the motor to change the optical axis of the photographic optical system of the camera in response to the compensation coefficient and the output of the vibration detection unit.

A blur-correcting image pickup device includes, but is not limited to an image pickup optical system for picking up an image, a vibration-detecting device which detects vibrations of the image pickup device and generates an output relative to the detected vibrations, a blur-correcting device which corrects blurring of the image caused by the vibrations, a rangefinder which detects distance of the image to be picked up and generates an output relative to the detected image pickup distance, and an optical system setup device which sets up a specific image pickup condition for the image pickup optical system. The blur-correcting image pickup device further includes an arithmetic information generating device which generates a first arithmetic factor when the specific image pickup condition is set up and a second arithmetic factor corresponding to the output of the rangefinder when the specific image pickup condition is not set up by the optical system setup device and a drive control device which calculates corrective information based on the output of the vibration-detecting device and the output of the arithmetic information generating device to control the blur-correcting device based on the corrective information.

Anti-blur image pickup device

A camera including a flashlight device for emitting a flashlight, a shutter, such that the camera has a flash synchro photographing mode in which the flashlight device emits the flashlight in synchronism with the shutter, a vibration detector for detecting a vibration quantity of the camera, a vibration correcting device for correcting an image blur on the basis of a vibration signal output from the vibration detector. The camera also includes a control device for controlling, while performing flash photographing by use of the flashlight device and driving the vibration correcting device, the shutter so that a maximum shutter time in the flash synchro photographing mode is shorter than or equal to a maximum shutter time in a non-emission of the flashlight. As a result, the flashlight device does not emit the flashlight.

A vibration preventing camera includes a vibration amount detecting unit for detecting the amount of vibration, a vibration correcting unit for correcting vibration, a light measuring unit for measuring the light value at a subject, and a control unit for controlling the vibration correcting unit in consonance with a detection signal that is obtained by the light measuring unit and the vibration detecting unit, and for activating the vibration detecting unit after the length of exposure is determined by the light value at the subject that is obtained by the light measuring unit. More preferably, a vibration preventing camera further includes a self-timer unit, and when the self-timer unit is set for an exposure, the vibration detecting unit is activated after the timing count down for the self-timer unit begins.

An image vibration reduction device for reducing an image vibration on the imaging surface, includes an elastically supported reduction optical system which constitutes a portion of an imaging optical system, an electromagnetic actuator for moving the reduction optical system, a reduction optical system driver for driving the actuator to move the reduction optical system, a reduction optical system displacement detector for detecting displacements of the reduction optical system, a vibration detector for detecting vibrations generated in the image vibration reduction device, and a digital controller for calculating digital reduction optical system target position information used for appropriately reducing the vibrations on the basis of the output from the vibration detector, calculating digital reduction optical system position information on the basis of the output from reduction optical system displacement detector, and calculating the drive amount to be supplied to the reduction optical system driver on the basis of at least the reduction optical system target position information and the reduction optical system position information.
