A switch includes a switching mechanism, an operating mechanism with a key which normally causes the switching mechanism to be in a switched-off condition when it is pulled out and to be displaced against a biasing force to be in a switched-on condition when the key is inserted, and a locking mechanism for maintaining the switching mechanism locked in the switched-on condition and releasing it from the locked condition if a load greater than a specified magnitude is applied to the key while the switching mechanism is locked such that the switching mechanism is set back in the switched-off condition. The switching mechanism may be contained in a head case attached to a main case containing the operating mechanism. The main case also includes a forcing mechanism which tends to force the switching mechanism in the switched-off condition. Normally when the head case is attached to the main case, the forcing mechanism is released from its forcing function but when the head case is removed from the main case, the forcing mechanism functions to displace the switching mechanism into the switched-off condition.

A push-button switch including a switch base which is formed into two divisions each for mounting a switch mechanism thereon, the terminals of one circuit provided within the switch mechanism being molded in insertion in the respective division switch base, whereby the switch base is made smaller in size and simplified in assembly of the push-button switch.

The push-button switch according to the present invention comprises a switch base, a plunger movable along a sliding portion thereof, an alternate cam pivotally provided with said plunger and guides for said alternate cam integrally formed with said sliding portion of said plunger. Therefore, the guides for the alternate cam are positioned with high accuracy with respect to the sliding portion achieving secured movement of the alternate cam.

A switch in which a switch unit is constituted by situating the free end of a first movable member disposed with a contact between stationary contacts opposing to each other along the vertical direction, while engaging the other end of the movable member to a fixed portion, pivoting one end of a second movable member to the free end of the first movable member while engaging a spring to the other end of the s econd movable member, thereby biasing the contact of the first movable member to one of the stationary contacts, and setting the other end of the second movable member to a switch operation portion, as well as a switch wherein a housing, which enhouses a push button unit containing an illumination unit, a socket unit to be connected to the illumination unit and a plunger to be connected to the push button switch, contains to secure the switch mechanism at the lower opening thereof and the lower end of the plunger is disposed to the switch operation portion.

A push-button switch having a lamp portion and a switch portion. The lamp portion includes a lamp, a lamp holder, a lamp casing, and a housing. The lamp holder is fixed within the housing and the lamp casing moves up or down to turn off or turn on the switch. The switch portion of the push-button switch includes a switch base, a plunger, and a cam. The plunger moves in conjunction with the lamp casing and has a cam formed on one end. The cam is guided along guides that are formed on the switch base, and holds the lamp casing and plunger in a raised position in which the switch is turned off and a lowered position in which the switch is turned off.

This pressure sensitive switch includes a bellows made of corrosion resistant material and with a hollow cylindrical body, which defines a pressure receiving surface on the outer surface of its one closed end portion, and with an open end which is fixedly secured to a fixed member in such a manner that the bellows may expand and contract in its longitudinal direction in response to small changes in the pressure difference between its interior space and the space outside it; a plunger mounted so as to reciprocate in response to the expansion and contraction of the bellows by being acted upon by the inner surface of the bottom portion of the bellows; and a switch assembly which is switched to and fro in response to the reciprocating motion of the plunger. This construction is compact and efficiently functional.

A push-button switch for turning on and off of a switch mechanism accommodated at one side in a housing through a plunger accommodated at the other side in the housing and moved in association with the pressure application thereto, wherein a partition wall is formed between said plunger and said switch mechanism so as to divide the interior of said housing into a plunger chamber and a switch mechanism chamber.

In this construction there are provided: a case; several contact members exposed within the case; several lead terminals electrically connected to some of the contact members, and a support member, all insert molded in the case and protruding outwards; and a circuit breaker provided outside the case, one of its ends supported by a lead terminal and its other end supported by the support member. Thereby compact and efficient unitary construction are attained, and space within a device to which this construction is to be fitted, can be economized. The contact members may be five in number, and may be arranged within the case for contact in a linear relationship, alternatingly serving as input side and output side contact members, with the end ones and the middle one serving for being switched between while the other two serve as common contact members. In this case, the two end contact members should be electrically connected together, and the construction may further include a pair of contact members which slidingly move, in synchronization, over the common contact members and their neighboring contacts. Alternatively, the construction may further include a movable contact member mounted slidably over the contact members with one of its surfaces confronting a surface of a slidable impeller member, one of these surfaces being formed with a hemispherical protuberance and the other being formed with a hemispherical depression cooperating therewith, thus coupling together these members.

A polarized relay with an electromagnetic drive comprises an electromagnetic yoke composed of a core wound with a coil and a yoke body, and having one end portion of one magnetic polarity and a pair of bifurcated end portions of the other magnetic polarity opposite to the one magnetic polarity. The bifurcated end portions are separated in opposition from each other. The one end portion of the yoke is disposed between the bifurcated end portions so as to cooperate to form a pair of working gaps. A movable block of a substantially C-like configuration incorporating a permanent magnet has two magnetic pole pieces which are disposed within the working gaps, respectively. Guide is provided for guiding the movable block in response to energization and deenergization of the coil so that the pole pieces are movable within the respective working gaps. A contact mechanism including movable contacts is mechanically coupled to the movable block to make or break circuit.

A variable speed control switch for an electric tool including a DC motor having an armature circuit, includes: a device for turning off and on the armature circuit; an upper heat dissipation cover for covering the top of the turning off and on device; a lower heat dissipation cover for covering the bottom of the turning off and on device; a printed circuit board located at the lower surface of the lower cover for controlling motor speed; a resistor element is provided on the lower surface of the board; a movable contact assembly, including a first contact member for short circuiting the motor terminals, a second contact member for turning ON the power source, a third contact member for short circuiting the turning off and on device, and a brush for providing variable resistance by sliding over the resistor element; a device for biasing the movable contact assembly to the position of short-circuiting the motor terminals; a box like casing which receives the above-mentioned components, the power source terminals, the motor terminal, and provides a depending support portion; an operation lever, drivingly engaged to the movable contact assembly at its upper portion, provides the depending support portion of the casing at its lower pivoted portion, and being adapted to operatively rock about that pivoted portion. By this simple construction the number of parts of the control switch is minimized and the construction is compact, light and cheap.

Variable speed control switch for an electric tool including a DC motor

A polarized electromagnetic relay apparatus for assembling a coil spool with a terminal carrying base plate is disclosed. The coil spool assembly has a front collar with a projecting piece. The projecting piece is adapted to engage with a latch hole in the terminal carrying base plate. The terminal carrying base plate has jaw-like, offset portions which engage with supporting offset portions formed in the rear collar of the coil spool assembly. The flexible projecting pieces may be of deformable material in order to easily engage with the latch hole of the base plate. The flexible projecting pieces can be tapered, also to facilitate engagement with the base plate latch hole. A terminal holder is formed on the rear collar of the coil spool assembly and is adapted to receive terminals from the coil. The terminal holder comprises the supporting offset portions which engage with the jaw-like offset portions of the base plate. The terminal holder is of a greater thickness than the base plate.

A polarized electromagnetic device is disclosed having a generally I-shaped magnetic core member, a coil which is wound on the center portion of the core member, a pair of permanent magnets which are arranged in parallel with and outside of the respective end portions of the core member, and mutually confronting first and second armature plate members which are joined together through the pair of permanent magnets, with each magnet at the opposite end portions of the armature plate members in order to provide a spacing for accommodating the core member between the armature plate members, and consequently leaving a gap for relative movement therein. The core member and armature plate members are supported to be swingable relative to each other for movement about a center transverse axis of the center portion of the core member.
