A tab and slot closure system has a tab member, a slot member, and an anti-pop open device. The tab member has a tab element which has a first region and a second region. The first region includes a proximal edge, and the second region includes a distal edge. The tab element is attached to the substrate element along a line of attachment. The slot member has an inboard portion, an outboard portion, and a slot disposed between the inboard portion and the outboard portion. The anti-pop open device is disposed on either the tab member or the slot member and reduces the likelihood of the tab member unintentionally disengaging the slot member when the tab and slot closure system is fastened.

An absorbent article, such as a diaper, sanitary napkin, adult incontinent device, and the like having fused layers is provided. The absorbent articles preferably comprises a liquid pervious thermoplastic apertured film topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core, and a fibrous acquisition web of spunlaced nonwoven fibers. The absorbent core is positioned between the topsheet and backsheet which are joined at least about a portion of the periphery of the absorbent article and the topsheet is fused to the acquisition web at discrete points of attachment. A releasable wrapper for absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins, panty liners, and adult incontinence devices, and the like which have side flaps is disclosed. The releasable wrapper covers the adhesive fasteners on the garment-facing side of the absorbent article and provides an individual package for the absorbent article.

An absorbent article, such as a diaper, sanitary napkin, adult incontinent device, and the like having fused layers is provided. The absorbent articles preferably comprises a liquid pervious thermoplastic apertured film topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, an absorbent core, and a fibrous acquisition web. The absorbent core is positioned between the topsheet and backsheet which are joined at least about a portion of the periphery of the absorbent article and the topsheet is fused to the acquisition web is a folded sheet which has a double z-folded cross-sectional configuration, which at discrete points of attachment. The acquisition web is positioned between the topsheet and the absorbent core.

An individually packaged absorbent article having side flaps with fasteners, such as adhesive fasteners thereon, is disclosed. The wrapper for individual packaging the absorbent article has a flap adhesive cover joined thereto. The flap adhesive cover protects the fasteners located on the side flaps of the absorbent article and maintains the flaps in a position which protects an absorbent side of the absorbent article from contamination until the article is ready for use. The wrapper overlays one major surface of the absorbent article and by folding the article and sealing the wrapper in that folded orientation, an individually packaged disposable absorbent article is provided.

Absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins, panty liners, adult incontinence devices, and the like which have side flaps are disclosed. The absorbent articles having side flaps are provided with gathered portions that can expand to relieve stresses on the flaps when the flaps are wrapped around the curved side edges of a wearer's undergarment. A releasable wrapper is also disclosed which covers adhesive fasteners on the garment-facing side of said absorbent article and provides an individual package for the sanitary napkin.
