The invention relates to a system for connecting rigid pipes and for connecting flexible pipes. The pipes have corresponding outer diameters, with a press jaw having a press contour, with at least one first fitting for press-fitting to a rigid pipe, the at least one first fitting having a first press sleeve with a first outer contour, with at least one second fitting for press-fitting to a flexible pipe, the at least one second fitting having a second press sleeve with a second outer contour, the at least one second fitting having a second press sleeve with a second outer contour has a second press sleeve with a second outer contour, the outer contour of the first press sleeve and the outer contour of the second press sleeve in each case being adapted at least in sections to the press contour of the press jaw of the press jaw and can be pressed by the press jaw and wherein the outer contours of the first press sleeve and of the second press sleeve correspond at least in sections. This system solves the technical problem of simplifying the on-site effort for installing piping systems. In particular, the task is to specify suitable combinations of fittings for rigid and flexible pipes.

A fitting for sealingly connecting to a pipe end of a pipe comprising a plastic material, comprising a base member and a support member, wherein the base member is made of a metal, and the support member is designed as a separate part made of plastic. The base member comprises means on the inside thereof, and the support member comprises means on the outside thereof for connecting the base member and the support member in a sealing fashion. A system comprising such a fitting with a composite or multi-layered pipe and a sleeve, or such a fitting with a plastic pipe and a sleeve.

A compression tool () can thus be provided which, starting from a radial inward movement, performs a compression in the axial direction, nonetheless requires little installation space, and offers weight advantages due to a smaller axial extension, for example. Furthermore, the invention relates to an attachment for a compression tool () and to a method for the permanent connection of workpieces using a compression tool.

A transmission element, which has a permanent nondetachable connection, is producible employing an axial pressing technique using simple means. The transmission element for workpiece connections to be axially compressed includes a flange section and a transmission section. The transmission section exhibits a substantially cylindrical internal peripheral surface, and the wall thickness of the transmission section tapers from the end proximal to the flange section to the end distal to the flange section. The transmission element is manufactured from a heat-resistant plastic.
