The technology disclosed herein enables recording of user communications during a communication session on behalf of a user who is unable to attend. In a particular embodiment, a method includes identifying a meeting at a meeting time when a user is unable to attend. In an automated recording system, the method includes joining a communication session for the meeting as an endpoint at the meeting time. During the communication session, the method includes receiving user communications in the automated recording system from other endpoints on the communication session. After receiving the user communications, the method includes storing the user communications to a storage system.

Automated session recording for absent participants

Messages, such as text messages, emails, and social media posts, are a popular way to communicate, however, messages can be overwhelming. In order to better manage messages, messages may be grouped, such as those having a common topic. A recipient may then address the grouped messages as a group. However, certain messages may have a common topic but have an attribute that warrants maintaining the message as individual messages, excluded from the group. For example, the message may be from someone who rarely communicates with the recipient, a celebrity, an important figure at work or in politics, a family member, or other attribute that would warrant exclusion from a common topic group.

Aggregation and aggregation omission of messages

The technology disclosed herein enables the creation of a contacts group from participants in a communication session along with the ability to share that created contacts group. In a particular embodiment, a method includes identifying participants participating in a communication session and receiving first user input from a first participant of the participants. The first user input identifies a first selection of the participants comprising at least one of the participants. The method further includes obtaining first contact information for the first selection of the participants and including the first contact information in a first contacts group. The method also includes providing the first contacts group to a selection of one or more users.
