Embodiments of the disclosure relate to a blister package having a laminate structure that is heat-sealable to a lacquer layer on strain-hardened aluminum foil. The blister package includes a lid layer comprising a strain-hardened aluminum foil, a lacquer layer on a sealing surface of the strain-hardened aluminum foil and a laminate structure sealed directly to the lacquer layer. The laminate structure includes a multilayer film and a plurality of wells formed therethrough. The multilayer film includes a first formable layer of a thermoplastic material and a sealing layer of a copolyester material. The sealing layer overlies the first formable layer and has an outer surface opposite the first formable layer. The sealing layer has crystallinity from 5% to 20% as measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The outer surface of the sealing layer is sealed directly against the lacquer layer.

Formable films, laminate structures, and related methods

A high barrier oriented PET film includes one or more PET layers forming a core of the PET film and one or more outer layers of a dispersed nylon containing PET positioned on the core.

High barrier oriented films

Formable films are provided that include one or more biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate layers. The formable films include a metaphase with a metaphase transition of about 180&#xb0; C. to 200&#xb0; C. as measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The formable films further include a molded volume of greater than 200%. Laminate structures including the formable films and processes for producing and using the formable films and laminate structures are also provided.

A high-barrier film is provided that includes a biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate (PET) layer having a first side and a second side opposite the first side, a cross-linked acrylic primer layer, and a metal barrier layer. The cross-linked acrylic primer layer is adjacent to the second side of the PET layer and has a dynamic coefficient of friction (&#x3bc;D) to steel of less than about 0.45, while the metal barrier layer is adjacent to the first side of the PET layer. The film has a total thickness of less than or equal to about 12 &#x3bc;m. Processes for producing the high-barrier film are also provided.

High-barrier polyethylene terephthalate film

A thermoplastic film is provided that includes a biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate (PET) layer, a tensile strength in the longitudinal and transverse directions of about 2000 kg/cmor 3000 kg/cmor more, and a tear force in the longitudinal direction that is about 1.5 times as large as a tear force in the transverse direction. Such a film can include two or more layers. Processes for producing the thermoplastic film are also provided.

Thermoplastic films having asymmetric properties

A high-barrier film is provided that includes a biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate (PET) layer having a first side and a second side opposite the first side, a cross-linked acrylic primer layer, and a metal barrier layer. The cross-linked acrylic primer layer is adjacent to the second side of the PET layer and has a dynamic coefficient of friction (&#x3bc;D) to steel of less than about 0.45, while the metal barrier layer is adjacent to the first side of the PET layer. The film has a total thickness of less than about 10 &#x3bc;m and has a tensile strength of at least about 2500 kg/cm. Processes for producing the high-barrier film are also provided.
