Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a first user equipment (UE) establishes a radio resource control (RRC) connection for a communication session with a second UE, establishes a signaling radio bearer (SRB) for the communication session with the second UE on a first frequency band, sends, to the second UE over the SRB on the first frequency band, a first RRC message to establish a data radio bearer (DRB) for the communication session on a second frequency band, the first RRC message including one or more parameters for establishing the DRB on the second frequency band, and configures the DRB on the second frequency band based on the one or more parameters in the first RRC message and/or a device-to-device discovery procedure performed in the first frequency band.

Establishing radio bearers on millimeter wave frequencies for device-to-device communications

An improved manner of transmitting and receiving messages in sidelink communication is presented in which a wireless device receives sidelink control information (SCI) that indicates a zone ID associated with a sidelink message. The wireless device determines a location of the wireless device and determines whether to send feedback for the sidelink message based, at least in part, on the zone ID associated with the sidelink message and the location of the wireless device. The feedback may include hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback, and the sidelink message may include a groupcast message. The wireless device may further receive an indication of an intended range in the SCI and may determine whether to send the feedback based on a combination of the zone ID and the intended range for the sidelink message.

Transmission with indication of geographic area

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify multiple candidate sets of physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) transmissions that include hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback for sidelink communications received from one or more peer UEs. The UE may select, from one or more of the multiple candidate sets that satisfy a PSFCH transmit power constraint, at least one candidate set that has a highest value for a utility parameter among utility parameters associated with each of the one or more candidate sets that satisfy a PSFCH transmit power constraint. The UE may transmit, on a PSFCH, the plurality of PSFCH transmissions included in the at least one candidate set in a HARQ feedback occasion. Numerous other aspects are provided.

A method implemented on a UE includes determining an application class of an application, and permitting or barring access by the application to a communication network according to a comparison of the determined application with a rule to provide application class based access control. Methods for application specific access control

Aspects relate to mechanisms for a wireless communication device to generate a superposition transmission of a sidelink signal to be transmitted to at least one receiving wireless communication device and an uplink signal to be transmitted to a base station. The wireless communication device may transmit the superposition transmission on resources allocated by the base station on a common carrier utilized for both sidelink and uplink transmissions. The superposition transmission includes a base layer corresponding to the uplink signal and an enhanced layer corresponding to the sidelink signal. The wireless communication device may further generate and transmit interference assistance information to the receiving wireless communication device for use by the receiving wireless communication device in canceling the base layer from the superposition transmission.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect an out-of-coverage scenario based at least in part on determining that a synchronization source associated with a wireless network is unavailable or has a signal strength that fails to satisfy a threshold. The UE may transmit, on a sidelink channel, a sidelink synchronization signal in a transmission period that includes a plurality of synchronization signal occasions based at least in part on the out-of-coverage scenario. In some aspects, the UE may transmit the sidelink synchronization signal according to a reduced duty cycle that causes the sidelink synchronization signal to be transmitted during fewer than all of the plurality of synchronization signal occasions. Power-efficient sidelink synchronization signal transmission

In an aspect, the present disclosure includes a method, apparatus, and computer readable medium for wireless communications for receiving, by a relay user equipment (UE) from a remote UE, a remote UE radio resource control (RRC) message for establishing a relayed communication between the remote UE and a network entity via the relay UE; determining, by the relay UE, remote UE information associated with the remote UE for establishing a remote UE communication context between the relay UE and the network entity based on the remote UE RRC message; and transmitting, by the relay UE to the network entity, the remote UE RRC message and the remote UE information.

Techniques for multiplexing remote UE RRC messages in a wireless communication system

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitter user equipment (UE), a receiver UE, or both of a sidelink communications link may detect a radio link failure (RLF) on the sidelink communications link. For example, the transmitter UE may perform a radio link monitoring procedure to identify the RLF. Additionally or alternatively, the receiver UE may detect if the RLF occurs based on using a timer or counter. Accordingly, the receiver UE may initiate the timer when no sidelink transmission is received and may declare RLF upon the timer expiring. The receiver UE may initiate the timer when a data transmission is not received, when a data transmission is supposed to be received and is not received, not decoding sidelink control information (SCI), not receiving the SCI, etc.

Handling of sidelink radio link failure

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a first transmission, wherein the first transmission includes information identifying a window, and wherein the UE is to transmit at least part of a second transmission in the window; and transmit at least part of the second transmission in the window. Reservation periodicity for NR V2X periodic scheduling

Some aspects described herein relate to determining, by a transmitter user equipment (UE) in sidelink communications with a receiver UE, a feedback forwarding timing capability based at least in part on a first timing for receiving and processing feedback from the receiver UE, and receiving, from an access point and based on the feedback forwarding timing capability, at least an uplink resource grant for transmitting feedback for at least one of sidelink communications or downlink communications. Techniques for determining feedback timing capability in sidelink wireless communications

A user equipment in a vehicle (v-UE) may transmit ranging signals, sometimes referred to as physical ranging signals (PRS), via inter-vehicle messages. The vehicle may be designated as a representative of a cluster of vehicles, e.g., in a vehicle platoon, and may broadcast and receive PRS on behalf of the cluster, while no other vehicles in the cluster broadcast PRS. PRS received from single representative vehicle in a separate cluster may be used to determine the inter-cluster distance between the two clusters. If the inter-cluster distance falls below a predetermined threshold, the v-UE may instruct all other vehicles in its cluster to begin broadcasting PRS, so that each vehicle can determine its distance to all other vehicles. Accordingly, the overhead due to broadcast PRS may be minimized until, e.g., accurate positioning between vehicles is warranted.

Cluster-based approach to positioning of vehicles in vehicle platooning or autonomous trucking

Embodiments include systems and methods for sidelink communications. In embodiments, a processor of a wireless device may determine signal strength information and priority information associated with a sidelink communication resource. The processor may determine coordination information based on the determined signal strength information and priority information. The processor may generate a message to include the determined coordination information. The processor may transmit the generated message including the determined coordination information to a second wireless device. In some embodiments, the generated message may be a control message, such as a medium access control control-element (MAC-CE) or a sidelink control information message.

Certain aspects provide a method for wireless communication by a user-equipment (UE).
