There is provided a method for filling at least one color in one or more outline images at a multi-function device. The method includes providing a user interface for displaying a color fill option. Based on receiving a selection of the color fill option, a file including at least one outline image is received by a controller. The at least one outline image includes at least one image field. Then, it is identified by an image processor, if the at least one image field includes at least one color marking. Based on the identification, the at least one image field is automatically filled by the image processor according to the at least one color marking to generate a color filled image.

Methods and systems for automatic filling of colors in outline images at a multi-function device

Disclosed herein are methods and systems for adding content in a page of an electronic document without moving current content to a next page of the electronic document. A first electronic document, a position information of a page of the first electronic document where a new content need to be added, and at least one of the new content and a second electronic document including the new content are received at an MFD. A required space for adding the new content and an available space between lines of the page are estimated. The available space and the required space are compared to check whether the available space is more than the required space. Based on the comparison, the lines of the page are re-positioned, and the new content is added on the page based on the position information to generate an updated first electronic document including the added new content.

Methods and systems for adding new content in an electronic document generated by scanning

A method and system are provided for optical character recognition (OCR) of multi-language content. The method includes extracting a text portion from an image received from a user-computing device. The text portion comprises a plurality of keywords associated with a plurality of languages. The method further includes segmenting the plurality of keywords into a plurality of layers. Each layer of the plurality of layers comprises one or more keywords which are associated with a language. The method further comprise generating an OCR output of each of the plurality of layers based on the language associated with the one or more keywords in each of the plurality of layers. The method further comprises generating an electronic document of the received image based on the generated OCR output of each of the plurality of layers. The method further includes transmitting the generated electronic document to the user-computing device.

Method and system for optical character recognition (OCR) of multi-language content

System(s) and method(s) for controlling a rate of consumption of printing material are described. The method includes receiving an image to be printed or copied and converting the image into a plurality of pixels. A value of a pixel, from among the plurality of pixels, is compared with a predefined threshold value. When the value of the pixel is below the predefined threshold value, a black pixel indicative of a pixel with printing material is generated. An error between the value of the pixel and a value of the black pixel is determined. The error value is multiplied by a gain value and then the weighted value of resultant is distributed among neighborhood pixels. The gain value is varied to control the rate of consumption of the printing material, as the consumption of the printing material is reduced when the gain value is increased.

Methods and systems for usage control of printing material

A print system may include a print engine, a processing device and programming instructions to halftone an electronic document to be printed. The system may receive an input image representing the electronic document to be printed, use a first and second threshold array, which are flipped to each other, to halftone the input image to generate a first and second set of data, respectively, then combine the first and second set of data to generate a halftoned image. In combining the first and second set of data, each dot in the halftoned image may represent full saturation if the corresponding dot in at least one of the first and second set of data represents full saturation, or white if the corresponding dots in both the first and second set of data are white. The system may use the same halftoning method for a monochrome or color document.

System and method for halftoning in a print system

The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for creating a multi-layered Optical Character Recognition (OCR) document, the multi-layered OCR document facilitates selection of the desired text from the multi-layered OCR document. The method includes receiving a scanned image corresponding to a document, the document includes text information. A binary image is generated from the scanned image. Then, a morphological dilation operation is performed to create one or more text groups, using a horizontal structuring element and a vertical structuring element. Thereafter, OCR operation is applied on each text group to generate a corresponding OCR layer. The one or more OCR layers are then combined while creating a multi-layered OCR document. Finally, the combined OCR layers are superimposed as invisible text layers over the scanned image to create the multi-layered OCR document.

Systems and methods for creating multi-layered optical character recognition (OCR) documents

The present disclosure discloses methods and systems (a multi-function device or a digital printer) having capabilities for an object enhancement. In an example, the MFD includes a digital front end module to detect edge of the object and direction of the edge. Following the detection of the edge, the digital front end module classify the pixels of the edge into two categories, for example, which define that whether the edge pixels are created by black-to-white transition or white-to-black transition. Based on the classification of the edge pixels, the digital front end module performs the object enhancement either in black-to-white transition or in white-to-black transition.

Methods and devices create a first halftone image and a different second halftone image from a continuous tone image. A third halftone image is produced by identifying pixels that are common to both the first and second halftone images. A toner reduction mask is applied to the third halftone image to produce a fourth halftone image (the fourth halftone image has only holes and remaining ones of the common pixels). The holes are added to the first halftone image to create a reduced-toner halftone image. Further, edges of features within the continuous tone image are detected (to identify edge pixels of the edge features) and such edge pixels are added to the reduced-toner halftone image to produce a print-ready halftone image. Finally, such methods print the print-ready halftone image on print media.

A method and system for segmenting text from non-text portions of a digital image using the size, solidity, and run length characteristics of connected components within the image data. For a connected component comprising a rectangular group of pixels enclosing a set of connected pixels having the same binary state, the size characteristic may be based on a ratio of height to width of the connected component and the total number of pixels within the connected component, the solidity characteristic may be based on a ratio of pixels within the connected component to a total number of pixels within a convex hull of the set of connected pixels, and the run length characteristic may be based on a number of transitions within the connected component.

System for automated text and halftone segmentation

An electronic document image of a document is captured using a camera of a handheld device. A user interface of the handheld device displays an instruction to place the handheld device on the document and to change the magnification of the electronic document image on the user interface until the electronic document image and the document are the same size. The handheld device automatically determines the original size of the document based on the magnification that made the electronic document image and the document the same size when the handheld device was on the document. The handheld device converts the electronic document image into an original size document image file based on the original size of the document.

The disclosed embodiments illustrate an image processing method and system for classification of halftone frequencies. Pixel values of a first pixel block in a binary image are converted into first pixel values. A second pixel block comprising second pixel values is generated, based on pixel shifting in the first pixel block by a pre-determined count. A frequency value for a pixel-of-interest in the first pixel block is determined, based on a count of a pre-specified type of third pixel values. Other plurality of frequency values for other pixels-of-interest in other plurality of first pixel blocks are estimated when a mode value, corresponding to a plurality of frequency values of pixels-of-interest in a plurality of first pixel blocks, exceeds a pre-determined threshold mode value. Based on the determined plurality of frequency values, one or more image processing operations on the binary image are performed.

Disclosed herein is a system, method and computer implemented method of facilitating generation of a digital representation of one or more physical objects. The method may include scanning a first part of the one or more physical objects to obtain image data corresponding to the first part. The scanning may be performed based on a first set of values corresponding to one or more parameters. The image data corresponding to the first part may be a digital representation of the first part. The method may further include determining a size of image data corresponding to the first part. Additionally, the method may include displaying information based on the size of the image data corresponding to the first part, prior to receiving image data corresponding to a second part of the one or more physical objects.

The disclosed embodiments illustrate methods and systems for estimating a skew angle of an image. The method includes identifying a set of measurable blocks from one or more blocks in said image. The method further includes dilating each measurable block, in said set of measurable blocks, with a predetermined regular structure to create a set of modified measurable blocks. The method further includes selecting a second set of measurable blocks from said set of modified measurable blocks based on a size of each modified measurable block in said set of modified measurable blocks. Thereafter, the method includes determining a slope of each measurable block in said second set of measurable blocks. Further, the slope is utilizable to estimate said skew angle of said image. The method is performed by one or more microprocessors.

Methods and systems for estimating skew angle of an image

A method and a system for image compression are disclosed. An image is converted to a halftoned image. The one or more halftoned lines in the halftoned image comprise one or more pixels. A first transformed image is generated from the halftoned image based on shifting of the one or more pixels, associated with the one or more halftoned lines in the halftoned image, by a first value. A second transformed image is generated from the first transformed image based on shifting of the one or more pixels, associated with the one or more halftoned lines in the first transformed image, by a second value. Further, a compressed image is generated based on compression of the second transformed image. The compressed image is stored in a storage device. Another method and system for image conversion are disclosed that converts the compressed image back to the first transformed image.

Method and system for compressing and converting an image during printing

A method and an application server are provided for processing an image. The application server comprising an image processing unit processes an image by segmenting into first segmented layer and a second segmented layer. The image processing unit identifies one or more regions in the first segmented layer and for a coordinate in the identified region a vicinity check condition is performed in the second segmented layer. The image processing unit compares a first size of identified region with at least an average size of the set of text components in the second segmented layer. Further, the image processing unit merges the identified region with the second segmented layer to get a processed image.
