A method, apparatus, and system for measuring consumption of content data having content for serially presentation is presented. The method comprises generating n random numbers, where n>0, generating a first value Pat least in part from a cryptographic function of the n random numbers, publishing the first value Pto a smart contract associated with a blockchain, embedding consumption monitoring data comprising the n random numbers in different temporal locations of the content data and transmitting the content data to a client device for consumption. A client device extracts each of the n random and transmits the extracted n random numbers to the smart contract associated with the blockchain. A smart contract verifies that the n random numbers match the embedded n random numbers and executes a transaction of the smart contract.

Media program viewership measurement using blockchains

A digital conference system can include a digital conference manager that automatically selects a digital conference service based on one or more digital conference parameters. A digital conference agent can request a digital conference configuration from a policy managerthat is based on the one or more digital conference parameters. The policy managercan send the selected digital conference configuration to the digital conference agent that sends the selected digital conference configuration or an identifier associated with a digital conference service associated with the digital conference configuration to a digital conference service manager. The digital conference service manager establishes a digital conference connection based on the digital conference service received from the digital conference agent. The digital conference service is automatically selected without requiring extensive knowledge by the user so as to provide a customized and enhanced digital conference without burdening the user.

Video conference manager

An apparatus, system, method, and computer-readable recording medium transfer a media session from a companion device to a media hub device connected in a network. A swipe operation is performed on the companion device, and a scan request is transmitted from the companion device to media hub devices connected in the network. The companion device receives a response packet from each media hub device based on the scan request. Each response packet includes a media access control (MAC) address. The companion device calculates a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) indicating signal strengths of the media hub devices based on each response packet, and determines a media hub device having a strongest signal strength. A media session executing on the companion device is then transferred over IP to the media hub device having the strongest signal strength.

A method, device, and system for prioritizing insertion of targeted advertisements within advertisement time slots of a video program are provided. CPE detects whether or not an electronic personal device of a viewer of the video program is within a pre-defined viewing range of a display of the video program while the video program is being played and thereafter determines whether or not a detected electronic personal device remains within the viewing range during an advertisement time slot within the video program during the playing of a targeted advertisement. The CPE is configured to increase a priority of insertion of a previously played targeted advertisement within a next or subsequent advertisement time slot within the video program if the electronic personal device of the viewer is determined not to remain within the viewing range during the previous playing of the targeted advertisement.

Method and system for prioritizing targeted advertisements

A method of granting access to a wireless network is provided allowing approval by a trusted authenticator. The method includes receiving a request to join a wireless network at a gateway from a client device, determining with the gateway whether the client device is within a predefined trusted zone, sending a notification of a potential new connection with the client device from the gateway to the trusted authenticator. The trusted authenticator then provides a response regarding the potential new connection, wherein the gateway denies network access to the client device when the gateway determines that the client device is outside the trusted zone or when the response from the trusted authenticator rejects the potential new connection, and wherein the gateway grants network access to the client device when the gateway determines that the client device is inside the trusted zone and when the response from the trusted authenticator approves the potential new connection.
