Various embodiments generally may relate to the field of wireless communications. For example, some embodiments may relate to enabling augmented computing as a service or network capability for sixth-generation (6G) networks. For example, some embodiments may be directed to the operation of a compute control client (Comp CC) at the UE side, and a compute control function (Comp CF) and compute service function (Comp SF) at the network side, which are referred to herein as 'compute plane' functions to handle computing related control and user traffic.

Systems and methods provide flow control for uplink traffic in an integrated access and backhaul network. A first relay node determines that its uplink buffer has reached an occupancy level higher than a pre-determined level. A computer-readable storage medium stores instructions for execution by one or more processors of a UE. The instructions configure the UE for small data transmission (SDT) in a 5G NR network and cause the UE to perform operations comprising detecting while in an RRC_Inactive state, a radio link failure during a first SDT of UL data to a base station. A secure key for a second SDT is generated based on the radio link failure. A configuration message including an indication of the second SDT is transmitted to the base station. A response message including a UL grant is received from the base station. The UL data is encoded for the second SDT using the secure key. The second SDT is performed using the UL grant while the UE is in the RRC_Inactive state.

The method includes receiving, from a user equipment (UE) a message having a media access control (MAC) control element (CE) format and comprising a MAC protocol data unit (PDU) structure, the message being formed by multiplexing one or more MAC service data units (SDUs). The method further includes generating a response message to the received message by multiplexing a MAC random access response (RAR) with one or more MAC SDUs. Embodiments of a generation Node-B (gNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The gNB may receive, from the UE, a first measurement report that indicates a first signal quality measurement based on new radio synchronization signals (NR-SS). The gNB may determine, based on reception of the first measurement report, a transmission direction for transmission of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS) for a second RRM measurement at the UE based on the CSI-RS. The gNB may receive, from the UE, a second measurement report that indicates a second signal quality measurement based on the CSI-RS. The gNB may determine, based at least partly on the first and second signal quality measurements, whether to initiate a handover of the UE from a serving cell to a neighbor cell.

The present disclosure relates to selecting a Local Management Function (LMF) in a wireless communication network, a next generation Radio Access Network (NG-RAN) acquires a capability from a user equipment (UE), the capability indicating whether the UE is capable of supporting LMF in Radio Access Network (RAN). An access and mobility management function (AMF) is then notified whether the UE is capable of supporting LMF in RAN. An LMF selection is then received from the AMF. In this manner, the capabilities of the UE are taken into consideration when selecting an LMF for a positioning procedure.

Apparatus and method for support of location management functionality in a radio access network

Various embodiments herein provide techniques for integrated access and backhaul (IAB) nodes.
