Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication and testing. In some aspects, a device may receive information identifying a mount orientation of a wireless communication device, wherein the mount orientation indicates an orientation of a coordinate system of the wireless communication device relative to a coordinate system of a positioner. The device may capture measurement information at each position of a set of positions of the wireless communication device, wherein the set of positions comprises positions of the wireless communication device as the wireless communication device is rotated around an axis by the positioner, and wherein the measurement information is captured based at least in part on the mount orientation. The device may provide information identifying the measurement information. Some techniques and apparatuses described herein may use the measurement information to generate a codebook for beam generation. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Beam characterization

Embodiments include systems and methods for managing radio power consumption in a mobile communication device. A processor of a mobile communication device may monitor a processing demand of a modem processor in the mobile communication device, and the device processor may compare the processing demand of the modem processor to a demand threshold. The device processor may select a power-saving mode for a radio of the mobile communication device based on the comparing, and the device processor may apply power to the radio based on the selected power-saving mode.

A method and apparatus for characterized pre-distortion calibration is provided. The method begins with the selection of a number of devices to be characterized. The number of devices selected may be a subset of a larger group of devices. The selected number of devices is then characterized. The method avoids characterizing the large group of devices. The calibration of the group of devices is then based on the characterization of the selected number of devices.

Method and apparatus for characterized pre-distortion calibration of a power amplifier

A method includes receiving, at a device to be calibrated, a data packet from a second device that is directing the calibration. The data packet includes at least two segments, where each segment corresponds to at least one calibration instruction. The method includes conducting a calibration of the device according to the calibration instructions corresponding to the at least two segments.

Systems and methods of device calibration

A method for measuring non-linear characteristics of a power amplifier is described. A calibration waveform is calculated during a testing procedure period. Amplitude characteristics of the calibration waveform at the output of the power amplifier are measured during the testing procedure period. Phase characteristics of the calibration waveform at the output of the power amplifier are measured during the testing procedure period. Pre-distortion techniques are configured based on the amplitude characteristics and the phase characteristics to be used during a normal operation period of a transmitter.
