In a communication system where a primary cell is controlled by a first base station and a secondary cell is controlled by a second, different base station, flow control is performed between the primary cell and the secondary cell for data for a radio link control layer. According to the flow control, the data for the radio link control layer is communicated between the first and second base stations using a link between the first and second base stations. Flow control may be performed between the primary cell and the secondary cell by dynamically controlling a depth of queued radio link control data in the secondary cell for one or more UEs based on one or more factors, e.g., current/future loading of secondary cell, peak theoretical throughput for a UE in the secondary cell, and/or a UE's current channel quality information. Apparatus, methods, and computer program products are disclosed.

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for partial failure handling of bearer mapping in dual connectivity are provided. One method includes, during a secondary evolved node B (SeNB) addition procedure, providing a target SeNB with an indication of SeNB change together with information on bearers that were served by a source SeNB. The method may further include receiving, by a master evolved node B (MeNB), bearer mapping for failed bearers from the target SeNB, and providing the source SeNB with the bearer mapping for the failed bearers.

Partial failure handling of bearer mapping in dual connectivity

A cellular communication system comprises an access point () which supports an underlay cell of a first cell on an underlay frequency using another frequency. A proximity detector () detects user equipment () in response to a wireless transmission therefrom, which uses a different transmission technology from a transmission of the cellular communication system. In response to the proximity detection, the access point () temporarily transmits a pilot signal on the first cell frequency. The user equipment () is then switched to the access point () and the underlay frequency in response to a detection indication from the user equipment () indicating that the pilot signal has been detected. Following the switch the access point () terminates the transmission of the pilot signal.

Communicating system information in a wireless communication network

A network for a cellular communication system comprises access points (-) supporting cells within a region (). Each access point (-) has an individual proxy address of a proxy address space which is a local address space of an address proxy () and a common network address of a network address space which is a network wide address space. A gateway access point () covers an entry point to the region () and detects a remote station entering the region. It then determines an access point () in the region to which the remote station is handed over and transmits a binding message to the address proxy () with an indication of the access point (). In response to receiving the binding message, the address proxy () establishes a binding between the common network address and the proxy address of the access point (). Data for the remote station is then forwarded to the access point () using the binding.
