Systems, methods and devices are provided for subscriber prioritization upon initial attachment. Methods include receiving notification of an initial attach request from a wireless device at a subscriber locator function (SLF) and performing a database lookup at the SLF. Methods further include obtaining a subscriber priority from the database lookup and transmitting the subscriber priority from the SLF to a network component responding to the initial attach request from the wireless device.

Initial attach priorization method and system

In a telecommunication network, network slices can be identified by slice identifiers used within a core network. The same slice identifiers can also be used by elements of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to identify the network slices. For example, a Home Subscriber Server (HSS) can be provisioned with user data associated with a user equipment (UE), including a slice identifier of a network slice that the UE is assigned to use. The HSS can provide the slice identifier to an S-CSCF in the IMS when the UE registers with the IMS. The S-CSCF can share the slice identifier with other IMS elements, such as a P-CSCF and/or one or more application servers. Accordingly, the IMS elements can determine key performance indicators (KPIs) and perform other operations in association with usage of network slices by UEs, based on the same slice identifiers used within the core network.

An Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) uses IMS slices in association with wireless network slices. The IMS receives an IMS registration from an IMS user device. In response, a wireless communication network identifies the wireless network slice that currently serves the IMS user device. The wireless communication network and/or the IMS selects an IMS slice for the IMS user device based on the wireless network slice that currently serves the IMS user device. The IMS serves an IMS service to the IMS user device from the selected IMS slice over the identified wireless network slice.

Solutions for providing a data traffic session with proxy-call session control function (P-CSCF) restoration include: receiving an indication, by an application server (AS), that a user equipment (UE) is registered with a first proxy node; receiving, at a subscriber information node, from a call session control function (e.g., over an N70 interface), a first message triggering proxy node restoration; based on at least receiving the first message triggering proxy node restoration, transmitting, by the subscriber information node, to a management node, a second message triggering proxy node restoration; receiving an indication, by the AS, that the UE is registered with a second proxy node different than the first proxy node; and based on at least receiving a session initiation message, establishing the data traffic session for the UE with the second proxy node.

Proxy-call session control function (P-CSCF)

A dynamic subscriber profile management system allows subscriber device profiles to be selected and applied based on the subscriber profile based on device type, a location of the device, or a combination of both. The system may receive information relating to the subscriber, the type of device, and the location of the device to perform a lookup of available profiles or profile settings and either update an existing profile for current use or select a profile from a catalog of available profiles.

Dynamic subscriber profile management

A system having a processor configured for executing computer-executable instructions for deregistering a user equipment (UE) during a transition between a first mobile domain and a second mobile domain. A data store is paired with the processor being configured for storing UE data, the UE data comprising one or more of the following: customer profile information, customer authentication information, and encryption keys for the information. A connection controller is configured for managing all connection and session related information from the UE. Upon detecting the UE is transitioned from the first mobile domain to the second mobile domain, the processor is configured to send a data packet to the connection controller to deregister the UE. Absent a confirmation message from the connection controller, the processor is configured to deregister the UE.

Methods to improve and optimize de-registration procedures with access and mobility management function (AMF)

Solutions for providing a data traffic session with proxy-call session control function (P-CSCF) restoration include: receiving an indication, by an application server (AS), that a user equipment (UE) registered with a first proxy node; receiving, by the AS, from a call session control function, a first indication that the first proxy node is unavailable; based on at least receiving the first indication that the first proxy node is unavailable, transmitting, by the AS, to a subscriber information node, a first message triggering proxy node restoration (e.g., over an N71 interface); receiving an indication, by the AS, that the UE is registered with a second proxy node different than the first proxy node; and based on at least receiving a session initiation message, establishing the data traffic session for the UE with the second proxy node.

Proxy-call session control function (P-CSCF) restoration

A computer-implemented method for protecting a user data repository (UDR) from over-accumulation of subscription requests in a subscriber profile of a subscriber of a 5G network may include receiving, from a network node on the 5G network, a new subscription request requesting a notification of status changes associated with the subscriber profile, retrieving the subscription profile from the UDR, and determining a number of preexisting subscription requests associated with a network function (NF) instance identification (ID) of the network node in the subscriber profile. If the number of preexisting subscription requests in the subscriber profile is equal to or greater than a predetermined value (X), the computer-implemented method may further include deleting at least one of the preexisting subscription requests from the subscriber profile and writing the new subscription request to the subscriber profile at the UDR.

Solutions for providing a data traffic session with proxy-call session control function (P-CSCF) restoration include: receiving an indication, by an application server (AS), that a user equipment (UE) is registered with a first proxy node (e.g., a P-CSCF); subscribing, by the AS, with a status repository, to a status of the first proxy node; receiving, by the AS, from the status repository, an indication that the first proxy node is unavailable; based on at least receiving the indication that the first proxy node is unavailable, transmitting, by the AS, to a subscriber information node, a first message triggering proxy node restoration; receiving an indication, by the AS, that the UE is registered with a second proxy node different than the first proxy node; and based on at least receiving a session initiation message, establishing the data traffic session for the UE with the second proxy node.

Techniques and architecture are provided for preventing narrow band (NB) SIMs from being used in a non-NB devices, e.g., high bandwidth devices such as, for example, smartphones, tablets, etc. In configurations, a user device is provisioned based upon a NB international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI), a NB-indicator and a type allocation code (TAC) combination. An IMSI, NB-indicator and TAC mismatch helps prevent NB-SIMs from being used in a non-NB device. In configurations, when a user device attempts to access or register with a wireless communication network via a narrow band network of the wireless communication network, the wireless communication network will verify the IMSI, the NB-indicator and the NB-TAC combination for the user device in order to allow the user device to access the narrow band network of the wireless communication network.
