Autonomous unmanned vehicles (UVs) for responding to situations are described. Embodiments include UVs that launch upon detection of a situation, operate in the area of the situation, and collect and send information about the situation. The UVs may launch from a vehicle involved in the situation, a vehicle responding to the situation, or from a fixed station. In other embodiments, the UVs also provide communications relays to the situation and may facilitate access to the situation by responders. The UVs further may act as decoupled sensors for vehicles. In still other embodiments, the collected information may be used to recreate the situation as it happened.

Autonomous unmanned vehicles for responding to situations

Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for technology that determines line of sight information for a plurality of base stations based on relative signal strengths, a location and a planned navigation path of a mobile system. Additionally, the technology may favor a base station from the plurality of base stations based on the line of sight information, select a beam combination that is optimal for the favored base station, and form a communication link on a beam combination corresponding to the mobile system and the favored base station.

Location and navigation path-assisted beam management

Technologies for aligning an antenna array of a vehicle by a compute device are disclosed. A compute device may control an antenna array to connect to a base station. The compute device may determine one or more movement parameters of the vehicle, such as an indication that the vehicle is going to take a U-turn. The compute device may then control the antenna array to track the base station during the U-turn by physically rotating the antenna array.
