The embodiments of the present invention are directed to a novel wireless powered method, apparatus and tracking system without a wired interface to a moving catheter. The implant in the patient's body on the moving catheter is energized by an external ultrasound transmitter using acoustic pressure waves. As a general mode of operation, ultrasonic waves from outside of a patient's body are received by an array of transducer elements configured about the catheter disposed in a patient's body, wherein the array of transducer elements transforms a frequency into a resultant stored energy. The resultant stored energy powers one or more transceivers via a power management arrangement and enables RF frequencies in a desired band to be output and received by external sensors. Coupled with ultrasound backscattering capabilities, the catheter provides a dual mode for accurate triangulated locations of the distal end of a moving catheter.

System and method for wirelessly powering, sending and receiving information from an instrument in the body

An N-element baseband (BB) time-domain spatial signal processor system and methodology for large modulated bandwidth multi-antenna receivers are provided. Such a processor generally includes a pipeline converter configured as an asynchronous time-to-digital converter, wherein the asynchronous time-to-digital converter arrangement generates a residue value and an asynchronous pulse and is further arranged to amplify the residue value so as to result in an amplified residue value; and a 2-bit flash time-to-digital-converter configured to quantize the amplified residue value. Thus, a true-time delay spatial signal processing system and technique in the time-domain that enables beamforming, beam-nulling and multiple independent interference cancellation after time-alignment of signals using cascaded voltage-to-time converters and quantization using relaxed pipeline time-to-digital converters is presented.

Time-based circuits and systems for wideband spatial signal processing

A discrete-time delay (TD) technique in a baseband receiver array is disclosed for canceling wide modulated bandwidth spatial interference and reducing the Analog-to-Digital Conversion (ADC) dynamic range requirements. In particular, the discrete-time delay (TD) technique first aligns the interference using non-uniform sampled phases followed by uniform cancellation using a cancellation matrix, such as, for example, a Truncated Hadamard Transform implemented with antipodal binary coefficients.

Spatial interference cancellation for simultaneous wireless and information power transfer

Unique methods and bio-imaging systems are introduced herein for self-automated self-operable biomedical devices and methods for bio-signal monitoring, such as electrocardiograms (ECG), heart rate, and other vital signs, requiring no trained medical assistance or minimal assistance. In particular, methods and devices disclosed herein may require no dedicated medical resources, generate diagnostic quality results, and provide for motion artifact correction without inducing discomfort or irritation. Moreover, long term recording is realizable. Such methods and devices reduce the backlog of patients at out-patient wards as well as emergency response in remote areas.
