In one aspect, a method includes receiving a request for a content item to be presented to a user; for a collection of content items, identifying one or more candidate content items including using image keywords derived from images associated with the user to identify the one or more candidate content items; selecting a content item responsive to the content request from the candidate content items; and sending the selected content item for presentation to the user.

Image recognition based content item selection

Methods and systems for providing a user with content relevant to a location of interest to the user, when the user is determined to be at or near the location, are presented. The user's interest in the location may be determined based on queries about the location received from the user prior to the user arriving at the location. The queries received from the user about the location are used to build a location recommendation model, which generates personalized content relevant to the location and to one or more interest verticals identified for the user. The location recommendation model is built using a location recommendation engine that collects data about the user, the queried location, one or more associations between the user, the queried location, and/or one or more other users, as well as various other information related to the user's interests and the queried location.

Method and system for providing dynamic personalized recommendations for a destination

Systems and methods of selecting content based on image data are provided. A system can receive an image captured by a camera of the computing device. The system can analyze the image to identify a pattern that matches a predetermined pattern of an object stored in an image pattern database comprising a plurality of predetermined patterns of objects. The system can identify one or more image keywords from the image based on the predetermined pattern of the object that matches the image. The system can select, based on a comparison of the one or more image keywords with one or more keywords of each of a plurality of content items, a content item. The system can provide, to the computing device, the content item to cause the computing device to present the content item.

Image recognition-based content item selection

Systems and methods of determining a geographic location based conversion via a computer network. A data processing system can receive, from a computing device, an indication of interest in an online content item that is associated with a commercial entity having a location. The system can also receive data points that each include time information and location information of a computing device. The system can generate a valid cluster indicating an activity at the location of the commercial entity by evaluating the time information and the location information of two or more data points with a duration threshold and a location threshold. The system can use the valid cluster to identify the indication of interest in the online content item as the location based conversion based on the activity at the location of the commercial entity.

Systems and methods of determining a geographic location based conversion

Multi-computing device network based cross-device conversion determination is described. A content selection computer server can identify cross-device conversions. A first computing device accesses third-party content via a first computer network connection. A second computing device accesses a webpage of the third-party content provider via a second computer network connection. The first and devices can be logged into a same online account. The content selection computer server can obtain, via a content tag that includes a script that executes on a webpage that includes the third-party content, data indicating that the first computing device accessed the third-party content. The selection computer server determines the conversion from the content tag and the second computing device having accessed the webpage. Based on a percentage of first and second sets of computing devices that have logged into common respective online accounts, the content selection computer server extrapolates an estimated number of cross-device conversions.
