A liquid crystal display includes a first insulation substrate, a gate line, a data line configured to cross the gate line while being insulated therefrom, a thin film transistor connected to the gate line and the data line, a pixel electrode configured to include a first subpixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor and a second subpixel electrode, a second insulation substrate configured to face the first insulation substrate, a common electrode disposed on the second insulation substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first insulation substrate and the second insulation substrate to include a plurality of liquid crystal molecules, where each of the first subpixel electrode and the second subpixel electrode includes a unit pixel electrode including a plurality of minute branches that is extended from a horizontal stem and a vertical stem.

Liquid crystal display device

An exemplary embodiment of the present inventive concept provides a display device including: a light unit configured to emit blue light; a color conversion panel disposed on the light unit; and a display panel disposed between the light unit and the color conversion panel to include a transistor. The color conversion panel includes: a substrate; a color conversion layer disposed between the substrate and the display panel to include a semiconductor nanocrystal; a transmission layer disposed between the substrate and the display panel; and a polarization layer disposed between the color conversion layer and the display panel and between the transmission layer and the display panel, and the display panel includes a blue light blocking film which overlaps the transistor, while the blue light blocking film includes a red color filter.

A display device includes a first substrate including a first base substrate, a first sub-pixel electrode, which is disposed on a first surface of the first base substrate, a passivation layer, which is disposed on the first sub-pixel electrode, and a second sub-pixel electrode, which is disposed on the passivation layer and partially overlaps the first sub-pixel electrode, a second substrate facing the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, where the second sub-pixel electrode includes a first portion, which is apart from the first surface of the first base substrate by a first distance, and a second portion, which is apart from the first surface of the first base substrate by a second distance which is less than the first distance.

A liquid crystal display device is provided. A liquid crystal display device comprising, a substrate, and a pixel electrode disposed on the substrate, wherein the pixel electrode includes first cutout portions, which are disposed along edges of the pixel electrode, and second cutout portions, which are disposed closer than the first cutout portions to a center of the pixel electrode, and each of the second cutout portions includes first and second extensions, which extend in different directions and are connected to each other.

The described technology relates generally to a display device, and the display device according to an exemplary embodiment includes: a main panel; an auxiliary panel positioned at two opposing edges of the main panel; and a cover glass covering a front surface of the main panel and the auxiliary panel, wherein the auxiliary panel has a curved shape.

A display device may include a first substrate, a second substrate opposite the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a pixel electrode disposed on the first substrate and including a plurality of subpixel electrodes. The contact line is positioned over the data line, and connects the data line and the third metal pattern to each other.

A display device may include these elements: a first data line; a second data line; a first subpixel electrode positioned at a first half of the display device, connected to the first data line, and comprising a first member and a second member, the first member extending parallel to the first data line, the second member connecting directly to and extending perpendicular to the first member; and a second subpixel electrode positioned at a second half of the display device, connected to the second data line, and comprising a third member and a fourth member, the third member extending parallel to the second data line, the fourth member connecting directly to and extending perpendicular to the third member, wherein the second member and the fourth member are aligned and are positioned between the first member and the third member in a layout view of the display device.

A method of manufacturing an array substrate includes applying a first color filter and a second color filter over a first and second pixel regions respectively and the color filters have an overlapped portion in wiring region; and forming a contact hole, which partially exposes the drain electrode therethrough, by etching at least one of the overlapping first and the second color filters, and the forming the contact hole includes selectively etching an upper part of the overlapped portion during etching a photoresist layer covering the overlapped portion, the overlapped portion of first and second color filters is etched without requiring an additional masking process, preventing a decrease of liquid crystal margin due to large height difference of the overlapped color filters, preventing misalignment of color filters and mixing of colors.

Thin film transistor array substrate and manufacturing method thereof

A display device includes: a first substrate; a second substrate disposed to face the first substrate; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second substrates; and a pixel electrode disposed on the first substrate and including a plurality of sub-pixel electrodes, wherein the sub-pixel electrode may include an outer electrode, a stem electrode extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to the outer electrode, and a plurality of branch electrodes extending in a predetermined direction from the outer electrode or the stem electrode, and wherein the sub-pixel electrode may be partitioned into first and second areas by the outer and stem electrodes and may include at least one slit disposed at a predetermined angle with respect to the branch electrode in the first area or the second area.

A thin film transistor array panel includes a substrate. A data line is formed on the substrate. A color filter covers at least a portion of the data line. A shielding electrode is formed on the color filter and is disposed over the data line. A pixel electrode is formed on the color filter and is separated from the shielding electrode. The shielding electrode has a low reflection characteristic.
