A power cable includes a conductor; an inner semi-conductive layer covering the conductor; an insulating layer covering the inner semi-conductive layer, the insulating layer being impregnated with an insulating oil; an outer semi-conductive layer covering the insulating layer; a metal sheath layer covering the outer semi-conductive layer; and a cable protection layer covering the metal sheath layer. The insulating layer is formed by cross-winding insulating paper and impregnating the insulating paper with the insulating oil. The inner semi-conductive layer and the outer semi-conductive layer are formed by cross-winding semi-conductive paper and impregnating the semi-conductive paper with the insulating oil. A thickness of the outer semi-conductive layer is 7.5 to 15% of a total thickness of the inner semi-conductive layer, the insulating layer, and the outer semi-conductive layer.

Power cable

A superconducting cable is provided. The superconducting cable includes a core part including a former disposed at the center of the core part, one or more superconducting conductive layers with each electric phase disposed at the outside of the former in a radial directions, a insulating layer disposed at the outside of each the conductive layer in a radial direction and a shielding layer disposed at the outermost of the insulating layer; and a cryostat disposed at the outside of the core part in a radial direction with first space being interposed therebetween, having a vacuum part disposed therein and electrically wired to neutral pole (N pole).

Superconducting cable

A termination structure for a superconducting cable is described. The termination structure for a superconducting cable includes a first tube including a conductive rod therein to form a room temperature section, a second tube including a conductive rod therein to form a temperature gradient section, and a spacer provided between the first and second tubes, the spacer including a conductive connector configured to connect the conductive rods inside the first and second tubes to each other. The first and second tubes are joined to be separable from each other.

Disclosed herein is a temperature movable structure of a superconducting cable terminal. The superconducting cable terminal has sections of a high temperature portion, a temperature movable portion and an extremely low temperature portion. The temperature movable structure is disposed in the section of the temperature movable portion between the sections of the high temperature portion and the extremely low temperature portion. The temperature movable structure has upper and lower spacer members, a pipe body, first and third conductors, a second conductor and a contact connecting member disposed between the first and second conductors.

Provided is a superconducting cable device including: a first superconducting cable and a second superconducting cable; an intermediate connection box which connects the first and second superconducting cables to each other; and a cooling device which causes a coolant to flow inside the intermediate connection box in a lengthwise direction of the intermediate connection box, wherein a cable connection portion for connecting the first and second superconducting cables to each other is provided in the intermediate connection box. In an uncooled state, the cable connection portion is disposed to be eccentric from a center line in the lengthwise direction of the intermediate connection box in a direction in which the coolant flows.

Super-conducting cable device

A superconducting cable terminal connection device connecting a terminal of a superconducting cable for power transmission to an external power system, includes: an electric field relaxation shield disposed inside an insulation housing; a horizontal conductor fixed to an end portion of a core of the superconducting cable drawn into the electric field relaxation shield; an insulator which coats an outer periphery of the horizontal conductor; a vertical conductor which is drawn into the electric field relaxation shield and has a through-hole through which the horizontal conductor and the insulator pass so as to be slidable in a lengthwise direction; and a flexible electrical conduction member which electrically connects an end portion of the horizontal conductor to the vertical conductor.

Terminal structure of superconducting cable system

A terminal apparatus for a superconducting cable system connects an overhead transmission cable or power appliance such as a breaker in an ambient temperature state to a superconducting cable through which power is transmitted at a cryogenic temperature. The terminal apparatus has: a refrigerant tub which is connected to the end of a superconducting cable and is filled with a refrigerant; a vacuum heat insulating container that surrounds the exterior of the refrigerant tub; a current lead having one end connected to the end portion of the superconducting cable and the other end connected to the overhead transmission cable or power appliance through the refrigerant tub and the vacuum heat insulating container; and a superconducting fault current limiter installed at a center portion of the current lead in the interior of the refrigerant tub to limit fault current. As the superconducting fault current limiter is built in the terminal apparatus, the terminal apparatus itself can play the role of a fault current limiter too. Hence, the terminal apparatus can protect a superconducting cable from a fault current directly by limiting the fault current flowed into the superconducting cable when a power transmission fault occurs.
