The present invention concerns a key housing, in particular for a motor vehicle key, comprising: &#x2014;a key () comprising an insert () and a key head () secured to said insert (), &#x2014;a housing () comprising an insert housing () that is longitudinal in shape, intended to receive an insert (), and a receiving space (), said key head () forming a cover closing the housing () at said receiving space (), and &#x2014;complementary reversible securing means carried by the housing () and by the key (), allowing said key () to be locked onto and unlocked from the housing (), the housing () comprising at least one elastic absorption means (') in contact with the key () in the locked position.
