Currently, some work vehicles and/or off-road vehicles come from the manufacturer lacking tow hooks—or even a strong point on the rear bumper assembly and/or the chassis to install a tow hook. A non-limiting example of this sort of vehicle is the Toyota Tundra. It is highly desirable for such a vehicle to be able to be towed by another vehicle and/or have connection points for recovery from stuck in a natural hazard like mud or water. A novel and improved sway bar bushing bracket with a tow hook design is disclosed. In particular, the manufacturer-installed sway bar bushing bracket may be replaced with a reinforced sway bar bushing bracket with an integrated tow hook that may serve as a more robust sway bar bushing bracket, as well as providing a strong connection point with a tow hook.

An air filter retention interface for use with an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The interface is substantially secured in an opening of a wall and the interface attaches to an air filter at the front end of the interface and an air intake tube on the back end of the interface. The interface has a filter sleeve and a filter base. During operation of the engine the filter sleeve is disposed through the opening in the wall such that the wall is between beads disposed on the external surface of the filter sleeve and the filter base thereby substantially securing the interface in place and the front end of the filter base is attached to the filter and the back end of the filter base is attached to the air intake tube and air passes through the filter then through the filter base and filter sleeve and then into the air intake tube and toward the engine.

A tamper resistant hydrocarbon trap and air filter assembly includes a cylindrical carbon trap filter extending from a sealed upstream end to a downstream end seated and sealed in a forwardly facing recess of an adaptor. A conventional cylindrical air filter surrounds the carbon trap filter with a sealed upstream end and a downstream end removable secured to an annular flange on the adaptor with the downstream end of the adaptor being arranged to be coupled to a vehicle's air intake.

An elongated air intake manifold, for coupling a compressor outlet to the air intake of an internal combustion engine, includes bottom, top and side walls progressing from a circular upstream end through a sweeping curved central section to a 90&#xb0; bend section terminating in a peripheral rim surrounding an air outlet port. The peripheral rim has opposed proximal and distal sides and a lower surface facing the engine air intake opening. A pair of proximal and distal mounting screw receptacles are formed integrally with and located on the interior and exterior of the manifold, respectively, for receiving mounting screws to secure the manifold to the engine. Preferably, the proximal mounting screw receptacles are arranged so that the heads of the mounting screws extend a minimum distance into the manifold interior. Optionally, one or more turning vanes may be positioned in the bend section interior of the manifold.

An air filtration system for a vehicle includes a filter housing comprising a first wall, a second wall, and a center wall disposed between the first and second walls. An intermediate tube is disposed within an outlet port in the center wall. An air intake tube is coupled between the intermediate tube and the inlet of a stock turbocharger for a turbo-diesel L6 5.9 Liter engine. Methods for providing filtered air to a turbo-diesel internal combustion engine are also disclosed.
