De-saturated color injected sequences in a color sequential image system are provided. The system comprises: at least one spatial light modulator; a light system configured to produce a series of colors illuminating the modulator, the series comprising: saturated colors; and, de-saturated colors which respectively replace one or more of the saturated colors on either side of a center of the series of colors; and, an image processor configured to control the modulator to inject one or more of the de-saturated colors both prior to and following an active sequence of the saturated colors in at least a portion of pixels within a video frame, respective locations of the de-saturated colors selected to minimize respective times between at least one first de-saturated color prior to a first saturated color in the active sequence and between at least one second de-saturated color following a last saturated color in the active sequence.

Spatial color mixing in a cascade imaging system is provided herein. The system comprises: at least two spatial light pre-modulators; and, a primary spatial light modulator, each of the at least two spatial light pre-modulators configured to vary illuminating light colors spatially across the primary spatial prime modulator simultaneously with at least two of the illuminating light colors, and the primary spatial light modulator configured to form the illuminating light colors into images and turn on pixels of each of the at least two of the illuminating light colors simultaneously in synchronization with the at least two spatial light pre-modulators.

Spatial color mixing in a cascade imaging system

A method, apparatus and system for projecting visible and non-visible images is provided. The system and apparatus include: a visible light source and a non-visible light source; at least one light modulator enabled for receiving and modulating the visible light and non-visible light to respectively form visible images and non-visible images, the non-visible images formed independent of the visible images; and projection optics enabled for receiving and co-projecting the visible and non-visible images in alignment. Furthermore, video data for projection is formed by replacing a portion of visible bits with at least a portion of non-visible bits in a data stream, such that the visible images and the non-visible images can be co-projected upon processing the video data.

Method, system and apparatus for projecting visible and non-visible images

A method, apparatus and system for combining non-visible data and visible data for a projector enabled to project visible images and non-visible images are provided. Visible bits representative of the visible images to be projected by the projector in a visible light spectrum are received; non-visible bits representative of the non-visible images to be projected by the projector in a non-visible light spectrum are received; a portion of the visible bits are replaced with at least a portion of the non-visible bits in video data such that the visible images and the non-visible images can be co-projected by the projector upon processing the video data.
