The present disclosure relates to novel and advantageous systems and methods for deploying a surgical tool or guidewire. Particularly, the present disclosure relates to novel and advantageous systems and methods for deploying a surgical tool for use in changing the shape of portions of luminal systems. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to novel and advantageous systems and methods including an access catheter to direct an implement, such as a guide wire, off axis into a wall of a vessel or a wall of a tissue structure.

Access catheter

The disclosure provides various embodiments of catheters having articulable ends that can be used for various procedures. Embodiments of methods are also provided that can be performed with catheters in accordance with the present disclosure.

Tissue excision, cutting, and removal systems and methods

The disclosure provides various embodiments of prostheses and delivery systems to permit an interventional cardiologist to create shunts between various blood vessels. Moreover, the disclosed shunts can be used to shunt between various hollow organs, as set forth in the present disclosure.

Percutaneous shunt devices and related methods

Devices and methods are disclosed for the treatment or repair of regurgitant cardiac valves, such as a mitral valve and/or tricuspid valve. An illustrative annuloplasty device can be placed in the coronary sinus to reshape the mitral valve and reduce mitral valve regurgitation as well as tricuspid regurgitation. The disclosure also provides improved techniques for cardiac pacing.

Cardiac annuloplasty procedures, related devices and methods

In accordance with the disclosure, devices are provided for closing an opening in tissue. The devices include a proximal portion configured and arranged to occlude the tissue opening, and a distal anchor portion configured and arranged to anchor the device in the tissue opening. If desired, the distal anchor portion can be moved proximally or distally with respect to the proximal portion during implantation. The proximal portion can be configured and arranged to fit into a left atrial appendage of a patient, and further wherein the distal anchor portion is configured and arranged to extend into the left atrial appendage.

Devices and methods for closing openings in tissue structures

Devices and methods are disclosed for the treatment or repair of regurgitant cardiac valves, such as a mitral valve. Annuloplasty procedures, related devices and methods

The disclosure provides various embodiments of catheters that can be used for various procedures. Embodiments of methods are also provided that can be performed with catheters in accordance with the present disclosure.

In some implementations, a radially self-expanding endograft prosthesis is provided that includes (i) distal flange that is self-expanding and configured to flip generally perpendicularly with respect to a body of the prosthesis to help seat the prosthesis against a tissue wall, (ii) a distal segment extending proximally from the distal flange that has sufficient stiffness to maintain a puncture open that is formed through a vessel wall (iii) a compliant middle segment extending proximally from the distal segment, the middle segment being more compliant than the distal segment, and having independently movable undulating strut rings attached to a tubular fabric, the combined structure providing flexibility and compliance to allow for full patency while flexed, the segment being configured to accommodate up to a 90 degree bend, (iv) a proximal segment having a plurality of adjacent undulating strut rings that are connected to each other.

Devices and methods are disclosed for the treatment or repair of regurgitant cardiac valves, such as a mitral valve. An illustrative annuloplasty device can be placed in the coronary sinus to reshape the mitral valve and reduce mitral valve regurgitation. An improved protective device can be placed between the annuloplasty device and an underlying coronary artery to inhibit compression of the underlying coronary artery by the annuloplasty device in the coronary sinus. In addition, the protective device can inhibit compression of the coronary artery from inside the heart, such as from a prosthetic mitral valve that exerts radially outward pressure toward the coronary artery. The annuloplasty device can also create an artificial inner ridge or retaining feature projecting into the native mitral valve region to help secure a prosthetic mitral valve.
