A method, system and computer program product for backup assignment of a mobile electronics device is disclosed. In response to one or more device assignment requests received by a controller apparatus when a server is operating in an off-line mode, one or more device assignment records are created within the controller apparatus, and which indicate assignment of the at least one mobile electronics device to a respective one or more users. When the server is operating in an off-line mode such that communication between the controller apparatus and the server is off-line, the one or more device assignment records, in relation to the at least one mobile electronics device, are stored in the controller apparatus. In response to the server re-entering the on-line mode, the server is updated with the one or more device assignment records.

Method, system and computer program product for backup assignment of a mobile electronics device

A process of redacting records based on a contextual correlation with a previously redacted record. In operation, an electronic computing device obtains redaction metadata associated with a previously redacted record and uses the redaction metadata to identify a segment within an unredacted record that was redacted to generate the previously redacted record. The device then processes the segment to detect characteristics of a person or the object captured in the unredacted record and further redacted in the redacted record. The device also determines a context in which the redacted person or object was captured within the segment of the unredacted record. The device then redacts a person or object captured in other unredacted records when such person or object is contextually related to the redacted person or object captured in the unredacted record corresponding to the previously redacted record.

Device and method for redacting records based on a contextual correlation with a previously redacted record

A process of extending retention periods of records. In operation, an electronic computing device identifies a retention period associated with the record. The device obtains information related to a future event. The information includes a time period during which the future event is predicted or scheduled to occur and a location at which the future event is predicted or scheduled to occur. When the device determines that the record is contextually related to the future event based at least in part on the time period or the location of the future event, the retention period associated with the record is extended. The device may also automatically extend retention periods of records based on a number of other retention-related factors associated with the record including recording content, record trustworthiness, recording time, recording location, recording data type, recording source, recording officers' profile and their association, crime statistics, incident severity, and the like.

Device and method for extending retention periods of records

A process of augmenting images of incident scenes with object descriptions retrieved from an audio stream. In operation, an electronic computing device detects an object of interest in an image captured corresponding to an incident scene and identifies an audio stream linked to an incident identifier of an incident that occurred at the incident scene. The electronic computing device then determines whether the audio stream contains an audio description of the detected object of interest. When it is determined that the audio stream contains the audio description of the detected object of interest, the electronic computing device generates a visual or audio prompt corresponding to the audio description of the detected object of interest and plays back the visual or audio prompt via a corresponding display or audio-output component communicatively coupled to the electronic computing device.

Device and method for augmenting images of an incident scene with object description

A body-mountable image capture device comprising a device body and a cover slidably mounted onto the device body, the device body comprising a camera, the cover sliding between a first position and a second position such that in the first position the camera is concealed and in the second position the camera is exposed. The body-mountable image capture device comprises activation means operable to initiate the camera when the cover is in the second position and the camera is exposed. The orientation of the camera is adjustable with respect to that of the device body such that the orientation of the camera can be maintained. The orientation of the camera may be automatically adjusted to keep the field of view generally horizontal. The camera may automatically rotate left and right in a horizontal plane responsive to movement of a head mounted sensor to thereby track a user's head movements.

The invention concerns in-line monitoring of a communication link between two stations in a frame-based communication network wherein the said two stations employ a compression algorithm for the transmission of frames and a corresponding decompression algorithm for the reception and decompression of the frames, the said algorithms requiring the maintenance at a transmitting station of a compression history in terms of the number of frames transmitted since a datum point and the maintenance of a corresponding compression history at a receiving station in terms of the number of frames received, the frames each including an identification of the compression sequence so that the receiving station can detect mismatch between the compression sequence and the receiving sequence. The monitoring method comprises detecting frames transmitted from one of the stations to the other, detecting whether frames are compressed, decompressing compressed frames and maintaining a compression history corresponding to that maintained by the receiving station.
