A Christmas tree and a method of completing a well in a standard wellhead. The tree is presented as separately deployable upper and lower portions with the master valves contained in the lower portion so that they are located below the wellhead housing to lower the height of the tree while increasing well safety and integrity. The upper master valve is bi-directionally sealing to allow for pressure testing, removing the requirement for tubing hanger plugs.

A holding device for medical purposes having a carrier arm on whose distal end a medical instrument can be secured and having at least one joint for positioning the carrier arm and/or the medical instrument, where the joint can be converted between the position that releases the joint and the position that blocks the joint. The holding device provides simple operation, reliable positionability, and can be cleaned well. The joint comprises at least two joint members that enter into active connection with one another by mutually engaging catching elements, where the catching elements are positioned essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the carrier arm and are pre-tensed with respect to one another by a spring element, and that in the joint at least one hydraulically or pneumatically spreadable expansion element is positioned by which the joint can be converted into the position that releases the joint.

Holding device for medical purposes

The invention relates to a holding device for medical purposes having a carrier arm on whose distal end at least one medical instrument can be secured and having at least one joint for positioning the carrier arm and/or the medical instrument, wherein the at least one joint can be transferred between a position that releases the joint and a position that blocks the joint and wherein the at least one joint is coupled with a touch sensor for actuating the joint. To produce a holding device for medical purposes that ensures simple construction, simple handling, and reliable positionability, it is proposed with the invention that the sensor should be coupled with the medical instrument mounted on the distal end of the carrier arm.

A medical instrument for grasping an object, in particular a surgical needle holder, including an elongated shaft, two jaw parts arranged at a distal end of the shaft, at least one of the jaw parts being pivotable with respect to the other of the jaw parts between a grasp state for grasping the object between the jaw parts and a release state for releasing the object. A handle is arranged at a proximal end of the shaft and has at least one operating element for moving the at least one pivotable jaw part between the grasp state and the release state via an axially movable force transmission element operatively connected with the at least one operating element and with the at least one pivotable jaw part via an articulated joint. The instrument further includes a latching mechanism for immobilizing the at least one pivotable jaw part in the grasp state.

The invention relates to a medical gripping and/or cutting instrument with an instrument shaft (), with a handle () that can be fixed movably on the instrument shaft (), and with a tool () mounted on the distal end of the instrument shaft () and consisting of two jaw member (), where at least one jaw member (or) of the tool () can move in relation to the other jaw member (or). In order to provide a medical instrument that, along with good cleaning properties and compact structure, also ensures simple and safe operation, the invention proposes that the handle () should include a coupling mechanism both to fix the handle () to the instrument shaft () and also to operate the at least one movable jaw member (or) of the tool ().

The carrying structure is configured such that the at least one supporting element can be lowered or raised for adjusting the height of the operating person's arm. The carrying structure comprises a control mechanism for lowering or raising the at least one supporting element, wherein the control mechanism includes a force load switch for activating the lowering or raising of the at least one supporting element, wherein the force load switch activates the lowering or raising of the at least one supporting element upon detecting compressive and/or tensile forces or motions acting via the at least one supporting element on the force load switch.
