The present invention provides an orthopaedic reamer handle that includes a reamer portion configured to transmit torque to a reamer head, a driver portion connected to the reamer portion that is configured to receive and transmit torque from a driver, and a drive train connecting the reamer portion to the driver portion to transmit torque from the driver portion to the reamer portion. The drive train includes a first drive shaft that defines a first axis and is connected to the driver portion at a first end and to a first intermediate connector at a second end. An offsetting member is connected to a second intermediate end of the first intermediate connector at an acute angle relative to the first axis and defines a second axis. The offsetting member connects to the reamer portion via a second intermediate connector at an acute angle relative to the second axis.

Offset orthopaedic reamer handle

An orthopaedic impactor includes an elongate member having an interface end; an impact head connected to the elongate member; an implant interface held at the interface end that is configured to connect to an acetabular cup; and a securing mechanism attached to the elongate member that includes an actuator and a pressing member at least partly covering the implant interface. The pressing member is connected to the actuator and slidable relative to the implant interface. The actuator is configured to slide the pressing member along the implant interface.

An orthopedic reamer connector includes a holder section shaped to allow for connection of an orthopedic reamer, the holder section including a connection surface and two pairs of holders associated with the connection surface, each of the two pairs of holders having a first holder and a second holder that forms an acute angle relative to the first holder, the first holders being opposed to each other by about 180 degrees and the second holders being opposed to each other by about 180 degrees; and a stop section mechanically interlocked with the holder section so as to prevent relative rotation therebetween and including a pair of stops associated with each of the two pairs of holders, each of the pair of stops having a first stop associated with the first holder and a second stop associated with the second holder.

Orthopaedic reamer connector

An orthopedic reamer includes a drive train having a drive shaft, a reamer head connector driven by the drive shaft and a locking structure surrounding at least a portion of the drive shaft; and a handle assembly configured to detachably connect to the locking structure. The handle assembly includes a grip; a connecting structure connected to the grip that is configured to slide over the locking structure; a bridge connecting the grip to the connecting structure; a stop having a first interface feature connected to the bridge between the grip and the connecting structure; and a knob assembly at least partly surrounding the bridge having a second interface feature that is mateable to the first interface feature. The knob assembly is configured to prevent detachment of the handle assembly from the locking structure unless the second interface feature is mated with the first interface feature.

Detachable orthopaedic reamer handle

An adjustable rongeur includes a first handle portion pivotally connected to a second handle portion. A shank is connected to the first handle portion at a proximal end of the shank, wherein the shank has a footplate at a distal end thereof. A crossbar is slidably engaged with the shank, wherein the crossbar is connected to the second handle portion, wherein a cutting opening is formed between a distal end of the crossbar and the footplate of the shank. An opening selection actuator is positioned within at least one of the first and second handle portion, wherein the opening selection actuator engages between the first and second handle portions to control a length of the cutting opening.

An orthopedic reamer connector includes a base shaped to allow for connection of an orthopedic reamer having a connection surface and being configured to rotatably connect to a rotary actuator; two pairs of holders associated with the connection surface that each have a first holder and a second holder that forms an acute angle relative to said first holder. The first holders are opposed to each other by about 180 degrees and the second holders are opposed to each other by about 180 degrees. A pair of stops are associated with each of the two pairs of holders. Each pair of stops has a first stop associated with the first holder and a second stop associated with the second holder.

The present invention provides an orthopedic reamer handle that includes a reamer portion configured to transmit torque to a reamer head, a driver portion connected to the reamer portion that is configured to receive and transmit torque from a driver, and a drive train connecting the reamer portion to the driver portion to transmit torque from the driver portion to the reamer portion. The drive train includes a first drive shaft that defines a first axis and is connected to the driver portion at a first end and to a first intermediate connector at a second end. An offsetting member is connected to a second intermediate end of the first intermediate connector at an acute angle relative to the first axis and defines a second axis. The offsetting member connects to the reamer portion via a second intermediate connector at an acute angle relative to the second axis.

A medical instrument handle assembly, for holding a medical instrument configured for preparing a bone to receive an implant, includes: a housing including a housing pin; an elongate arm including a proximal end; a lever subassembly including a lever body and a lever latch, the lever body being pivotally connected to the proximal end of the elongate arm, the lever body and the lever latch being pivotally connected to one another and thereby being selectively positionable relative to one another between a first position and a second position, the first position being when the lever body and the lever latch are clamped about the housing pin, the second position being when the lever body and the lever latch are unclamped relative to the housing pin.

Medical instrument handle

A polyaxial driver system for inserting and setting the angular orientation of an implant includes an elongated component and a distal component. The elongated component extends along a main axis and includes an elongated tubular sheath and an elongated shaft disposed within the tubular sheath. The distal component is pivotally connected to a distal end of the elongated shaft and includes a tubular body extending along the main axis and a spherical head dimensioned to fit and move freely within the tubular body. A proximal end of the elongated shaft includes a first set of outer threads and a proximal end of the elongated tubular sheath includes inner threads shaped and dimensioned to engage the first set of outer threads of the elongated shaft. Rotating the elongated tubular sheath clockwise or counter-clockwise moves the elongated shaft forward or backward along the main axis, respectively.

System and method for a lockable polyaxial driver tool

The disclosure illustrates a dual driver for surgical reamers in which either of a crossbridge and crossbar style reamers are axially inserted in the distal end of a central shaft for the reamer driver. A pair of L shaped grips are adapted to connect and disconnect the different style of reamers by the movement of an external sleeve biased towards the connection position. Movement of the sleeve away from the distal end allows an internal plunger to cam the grips to an open position and urge the appropriate reamer from the tool driver directly in an axial direction.

A ratchet tool, including a shaft defining a longitudinal axis; a handle coaxial to the shaft; a first gear immovably fixed to the shaft and disposed in the handle; a second gear rotatably and longitudinally movable with respect to the shaft, where the second gear engages the first gear to limit torque transfer from the handle to the shaft in a first direction and provides substantially zero torque transfer in a second direction; a first spring disposed between the second gear and the handle; a third gear rotatably and longitudinally movable with respect to the shaft, where the third gear engages the first gear to limit torque transfer from the handle to the shaft in the second direction and provides substantially zero torque transfer in the first direction; and a second spring disposed between the third gear and the handle.

Torque limiting ratchet device

A syringe, for use in the delivery of a dose of a therapeutic agent entrained within a pressurized fluid flow, includes an upstream portion, an intermediate portion, a downstream portion, and an actuator mechanism for initiating a flow of the fluid through the syringe. The upstream portion is interfaced with a source of fluid under pressure. The intermediate portion, which is interposed between the upstream and downstream portions, includes first and second members that are coupled together to provide a closed pocket for containing the dose. One of the first and second members is moveable relative to the other within the syringe to provide an open configuration in which the pocket is opened to expose the dose for entrainment by the fluid as it flows through the intermediate portion and to and through the nozzle. Also provided is a capsule formed from the first and second members.
