A system and approach for providing information about a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. A screen of the system on a display may have a portion revealing a perspective with a view of components such as cooling and heating coils, fans, dampers, sensors, and so forth. Data modules may be shown proximate to the components on the screen and indicate certain parameters about them. As second portion of the screen may show control and information modules related to items such as temperature and pressure control, and operating mode. The screen may also reveal relationships among sub-systems, applications, zones, alarms, and other items.

HVAC information display system

An approach and mechanism relative to a license that is forced or locked to a particular localization. Forcing a license of a product to be localized may be effected with an attribute specifying the locale or language of a particular region, area, or country. The lock-to-locale region or area may be set and thus force a use of localization settings, lexicon files and resources of the particular region, area or country. A hash or code may be developed and embedded as a value of an attribute on the lock-to-locale feature. The hash or code on the files installed may be validated by matching it with the hash or code securely stored within the license file to ensure that the localization files for the region or area have not been tampered with or changed.

Also, incorporated may be triggering a subset of analytics by automatically inferring HVAC equipment details from controller configuration details, ensuring reliability of analytics by retaining logical continuity of HVAC equipment operational data even when controllers and other parts of the system are replaced, and an LCBS gateway with workflow and mechanisms to associate to a contractor account.

It may have a building control device connected to a thin user interface client and/or a rich client user interface. The building control device may be connected to an external server from a computing cloud environment to extend the functionality, storage and processing, among other things, of the building control device.

A system or mechanism for monitoring a building automation system through configurable conditions that indicate non-optimal performance or failure of building equipment. The mechanism may deliver notifications when the conditions are triggered. The mechanism may enable complex conditions and arbitrary user defined contents providing a context of the system to be delivered as notifications of data to configured recipients. The mechanism may enable a configuring event including not only user defined system context data as part of the event notification but also complex user defined conditions as needed.

A system and approach for managing configuration versions for controllers. The system and approach may incorporate a building controller, a version control system, and a computer connected to the controller and version control system. The version control system may have the controller configured to a latest version of changes as incorporated by a current configuration without losing one or more previous configurations. The one or more previous configurations may be recoverable by the version control system. The one or more previous configurations and the current configuration may be held by one or more repositories. The one or more repositories may be hosted in the computer, a remote computer, or a server.

A building controller unit having a building controller adapted to control one or more building components of a building, and a license file stored within the building controller unit for storing software license information. In some cases, the building controller unit may include a license server for granting and/or denying software access requests from one or more software applications running external to the building controller unit based on the software license information stored in the building controller unit.

In one illustrative embodiment, a display controller is provided that includes a configuration mechanism for configuring the information that is to be displayed on the display. A building control system incorporating an external calendar service, having a schedule subsystem, a schedule synchronization subsystem connected to the schedule subsystem, and an external calendar configuration subsystem connected to the schedule synchronization subsystem. A selection of a surrogate space from which the surrogate control is obtained, may be made by correlation of data over time and specifications of other spaces in a building complex. The surrogate control may be from the controller of the space selected for control of the space having the ineffective sensor connection. The surrogate space may be a construct of one or more spaces. It may be based on a virtual space that combines behaviors of other spaces for a good match. Diagnostics may be effected from information about spaces in the system.

Surrogate-based control system

A building management system for one or more buildings, having a processor and a display for showing a model of a building being managed. The model may be shown as a three dimensional depiction or rendition, or a virtual building. A database may provide information regarding sensors, actuators and other items which may be viewed in conjunction with the displayed model. Information regarding the location and status of the sensors, control devices, and the like, which may be points of interest, may be mapped on the virtual depiction or model of the building. A user or operator may thus move through the building and view and affect rooms, sensing and control devices, and other items, including quick navigation to points of interest, in virtual reality. A recorder and play mechanism may be a significant portion of the system for recording structures, parameters, environment, events and other information of the system.
