A transcatheter valve prosthesis includes a stent having a crimped configuration for delivery within a vasculature and an expanded configuration for deployment within a native heart valve. The stent includes an inflow portion, an outflow portion, and at least one commissure post positioned at least partially in the outflow portion of the stent. The transcatheter valve prosthesis includes an inflow marker positioned within the inflow portion of the stent, the inflow marker including a first radiopaque material. The transcatheter valve prosthesis includes an outflow marker positioned on the at least one commissure post, the outflow marker including a second radiopaque material. The first radiopaque material and the second radiopaque material cause the inflow marker and the outflow marker to be visible relative to the stent in one or more images captured during the installation at the implant location.

Devices and methods for multi-alignment of implantable medical devices

A transcatheter valve prosthesis includes a balloon expandable stent and a prosthetic valve. An inflow portion of the stent includes a plurality of crowns and a plurality of struts with each crown being formed between a pair of opposing struts. Endmost inflow side openings and endmost inflow crowns are formed at the inflow end of the stent and the inflow end of the stent has a total of twelve endmost inflow crowns. An outflow portion of the stent includes a plurality of crowns and a plurality of struts with each crown being formed between a pair of opposing struts. Endmost outflow crowns are formed at the outflow end of the stent and the outflow end of the stent has a total of six endmost outflow crowns. The prosthetic valve is disposed within and secured to the stent.

Balloon expandable frame for transcatheter implantation of a cardiac valve prosthesis

A transcatheter valve prosthesis includes a stent having a crimped configuration for delivery within a vasculature and an expanded configuration for deployment within a native heart valve. The stent includes at least one axial frame member. The transcatheter valve prosthesis includes at least one outflow marker positioned on the at least one axial frame member. The transcatheter heart valve prosthesis may include inflow markers positioned within the inflow portion of the stent. The transcatheter heart valve prosthesis may include two outflow markers disposed on axial frame members and being circumferentially and longitudinally offset from each other. The markers are configured to aid in axial and circumferential aligned of the transcatheter heart valve prosthesis within a native heart valve.

A transcatheter valve prosthesis includes a stent and a prosthetic valve. The stent includes an inflow portion, an outflow portion, and a transition portion extending between the inflow portion and the outflow portion. The transition portion includes a plurality of axial frame members, and three of the plurality of the axial frame members are commissure posts. At least two of the plurality of the axial frame members are commissure posts having a first end connected to a crown of the inflow portion and an unattached second end disposed within the outflow portion such that a pair of struts of the outflow portion intersect each commissure post at a mid-portion thereof. The prosthetic valve is configured to substantially block blood flow in one direction to regulate blood flow through a central lumen of the stent.

Balloon expandable stent with lengthened commissure posts for transcatheter implantation of a cardiac valve prosthesis

A transcatheter valve prosthesis includes a stent and a prosthetic valve disposed within the stent. The stent is balloon expandable and includes an inflow portion, an outflow portion, and a transition portion extending between the inflow portion and the outflow portion. A diameter of an inflow end of the transcatheter valve prosthesis is greater than a diameter of an outflow end of the transcatheter valve prosthesis. The transcatheter valve prosthesis has a tapered profile along an entire height thereof when in the stent is in the expanded configuration. The inflow end of the transcatheter valve prosthesis is configured to sit within and contact an aortic annulus of the native aortic valve and the outflow end of the transcatheter valve prosthesis being configured to float within an ascending aorta without contacting the ascending aorta due to the tapered profile of the transcatheter valve prosthesis.

Supra annular tapered balloon expandable stent for transcatheter implantation of a cardiac valve prosthesis

An implantable stent includes multiple circumferential segments that surround a bore and are connected in series along a length to form a tubular wall. Multiple adjacent alternating opposite facing crowns arranged along each segment's circumference are bridged by struts. The struts include a series of staggered arcuate edges with limited flats to provide a limited region of maximum width between significantly extended reducing diameter tapers at either end where they transition into the crowns. Connections between adjacent segments are wider and stiffer than the struts and strut-crown transitions in the segments. The crowns include inner and outer radii with off-set centers along a common axis to provide medial crown peaks along the axis that are wider than the narrowed crown shoulders on either side of the axis and from which the tapered struts extend. Material strain and flexure along the stent during lateral bending is distributed mainly within the segments, e.g. along the struts or crowns, versus at the connections between segments. Material strain and deformation during radial expansion is principally concentrated at the crown shoulders and tapered transition region with the struts. Particular closed-open-closed arrangements along the stent length are disclosed, though with fewer stent connections in the relatively 'closed' end-portions along the stent than are provided by other typically 'open' cell stents in prior use. Enhanced combinations of performance characteristics are provided regarding visibility, trackability, expansion characteristics, fatigue failures, coating integrity, and local drug delivery from the stent.

Implantable and lumen-supporting stents and related methods of manufacture and use

A method for manufacturing a stent includes forming a stent blank from a first material, the stent blank comprising a plurality of struts and a plurality of crowns, each crown connecting at least two struts, and a plurality of slots in at least some of the plurality of struts and/or the plurality of crowns, depositing a second material over outer surfaces of the struts and the crowns and in the slots to encase the stent blank in the second material, creating at least one opening through the second material, and removing the first material to form a stent comprising the second material, the stent having a continuous lumen from one end of the stent to the other end of the stent, the continuous lumen being partitioned in portions corresponding to the locations of the slots in the stent blank. The lumen may then be filled with a therapeutic substance.

Method for manufacturing a stent and stent manufactured thereby

An implantable medical stent system, including a radially expandable stent including a filamental structure in a pattern surrounding a bore to form a substantially tubular wall along a length relative to a longitudinal axis; wherein the filamental structure includes at least one actuate crown with a crown peak having a radius of curvature located along a reference axis, and first and second arcuate crown shoulders on first and second sides, respectively, of the reference axis; and wherein the filamental structure also includes at least one pair of adjacent first and second elongated struts extending from the first and second crown shoulders, respectively.

The endovascular graft includes a dual chamber cuff structure. The endovascular graft includes a tubular structure having a first end and a second end. The tubular structure has a wall defining a lumen between the first and second ends. The endovascular graft includes a cuff circumferentially secured to the tubular structure. The cuff has an interior cavity which is bifurcated such that the interior cavity includes a circumferential outer chamber and a circumferential inner chamber. The method for forming the endovascular graft includes inserting an expansion substance into the inner chamber to resist a luminal intrusion of the tubular structure resulting from the insertion of the expansion substance into the outer chamber. The expansion substance within the outer chamber is stiffened. The expansion substance within the inner chamber is removed.

Dual chamber cuff structure

An intracorporeal device, such as an endovascular graft, having a tubular section with circumferential or helical radial support members. The radial support members may be inflatable channels which support the tubular structure of the graft and which are appropriately sized and longitudinally spaced to prevent or reduce kinking of the tubular structure upon bending of the tubular structure.

This invention is a system for the treatment of body passageways; in particular, vessels with vascular disease. The system includes an endovascular graft with a low-profile delivery configuration and a deployed configuration in which it conforms to the morphology of the vessel or body passageway to be treated as well as various connector members and stents. The graft is made from an inflatable graft body section and may be bifurcated. One or more inflatable cuffs may be disposed at either end of the graft body section. At least one inflatable channel is disposed between and in fluid communication with the inflatable cuffs.
