A vehicle including a detection unit and a processor is disclosed. The detection unit may be configured to capture inputs associated with an external light being illuminated in proximity to the vehicle. The processor may be configured to obtain the inputs from the detection unit, and determine an illumination characteristic associated with the external light based on the inputs obtained from the detection unit. The processor may further actuate a vehicle light to illuminate based on the illumination characteristic.

Systems and methods for actuating vehicle lights based on external light show

A vehicle console system includes a body having first and second sidewalls. Each of the first and second sidewalls defines a rail along an inner surface thereof. A support bar slidably engages the rails. The support bar defines a track. A cover assembly is operably coupled to the support bar. The cover assembly includes a base panel coupled to the support bar via a connector assembly and a deployable panel rotatably coupled to the base panel. The cover assembly is configured to translate along a first movement path with the support bar along the rails and a second movement path along the track of the support bar. The cover assembly is configured to rotate along a third movement path between a first side position and a second side position.

Vehicle console assembly

A refrigerated delivery vehicle is disclosed. The vehicle may include a refrigerated cargo zone configured to store a plurality of delivery packages. The refrigerated cargo zone may include an access door. The vehicle may further include a detection unit configured to detect a user movement in the refrigerated cargo zone and an access door movement when the vehicle may be traversing a delivery route or parked. The vehicle may further include a processor configured to obtain inputs from the detection unit, and determine a user inefficiency parameter based on the inputs. The processor may be further configured to compare the user inefficiency parameter with a threshold inefficiency parameter. The processor may output a notification instructing the user to reduce the user movement or the access door movement when the user inefficiency parameter may be greater than the threshold inefficiency parameter.

A system for a vehicle includes a human-machine interface, a microphone that detects sound, a sound source device that emits sound, and a controller that prompts pairing of the sound source device and the microphone, such that the sound source device emits sound corresponding to the sound detected by the microphone. The controller prompts pairing of the sound source device and the microphone in response to at least one of (i) the vehicle entering a reverse mode, and (ii) receiving a user input entered into the human-machine interface via selection of an input option by a user, wherein the input option is made accessible for selection by the user in response to the vehicle entering the reverse mode.

The disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for securing an item in a vehicle. An example method can include a processor receiving a primary trigger to unlock a gate of the vehicle, followed by unlocking of the gate to allow access to a cargo compartment. A secondary trigger may then be received for unlocking a security lock that is a part of a cargo item holder located in the cargo compartment. The processor may perform an authentication procedure upon the secondary trigger and unlock the security lock, based on a successful authentication of the secondary trigger. In an example implementation, the cargo item holder is a gun rack that includes a security lock, the primary trigger can be a signal produced by activating a pushbutton switch, and the secondary trigger can be a spoken command, a signal generated by a smart tag, or an image of an individual.

An on-demand security inspection system is provided for dispatching an investigator to a target dwelling. The investigator (e.g., a police officer) carries a video camera (e.g., a body cam). The inspection system comprises a service management server, a requestor interface, and an investigator interface. The requestor interface is configured to link a user to the service management server in order to specify a checklist. The investigator interface is configured to link a mobile unit (e.g., a vehicle control module or a handheld mobile unit) to the service management server in order to (1) communicate a plurality of checklist prompts to the mobile unit, and (2) return video data from the video camera captured according to the checklist prompts.

A rock rail assembly for a vehicle includes a mounting structure, an arm mounted to the mounting structure, a motor bracket coupled to the mounting structure, a motor mounted to the motor bracket, a pivot bar pivotably coupled with the mounting structure, a rail coupled with the pivot bar and operable to move between stowed and deployed positions, and a sector gear coupled to the pivot bar. The motor has a shaft that includes a first end, a second end, and a worm gear portion. Operation of the motor drives rotation of the shaft.
