An assembly for preventing abuse of a pump mounted to a driver equipment is provided. The driver equipment and the pump have a mutually intermeshed driver gear and a driven gear respectively. The assembly includes a coupler splined to a shaft of the pump and configured to transmit torque from the driven gear to the shaft. The assembly also includes fasteners that are configured to releasably fasten the coupler to an end face of the driven gear. The fasteners are configured to shear, and disconnect the coupler from the driven gear when a torque on the driven gear exceeds an operational torque of the pump.

Assembly for preventing abuse of a pump mounted to a driver equipment

An assembly for adjustably mounting a gear of a pump to a gear of a driver equipment includes a shroud member, and a hollow elongated stub-shaft. The stub-shaft includes a flange, and a hub member axially extending from the flange. The shroud member defines a first aperture whose diameter is greater than a diameter of the hub member. The hub member is received within the shroud member via the first aperture. The flange has a first set of holes to receive a first set of fasteners and releasably couple with the body of the pump. The flange also has a second set of holes that are configured to receive a second set of fasteners and releasably couple with the shroud member. A diameter of the second set of holes is greater than a diameter of the second set of fasteners.

Assembly for adjustably mounting a gear of a pump to a gear of a driver equipment

A stub shaft is disclosed. The stub shaft may have an elongated cylindrical body having a base end configured to be secured to an engine block and an opposing distal end. The stub shaft may also have a collar formed at the base end of the elongated cylindrical body. The collar may be configured to be inserted into a cavity in the engine block to guide attachment of the stub shaft to the engine block. The stub shaft may further have an axial bore formed in the elongated cylindrical body and passing from the base end to the distal end. The stub shaft may also have a radial passage formed in the elongated cylindrical body and in fluid communication with the axial bore. The stub shaft may additionally have a thrust face formed between the base end and the radial passage.
