A tracking system includes one or more wireless tags, a sensing device, and a processor. The sensing device is configured to generate sensing data representative of one or more people or objects in a scene. The processor is configured to detect the presence of the wireless tags within the scene. The processor is further configured to receive sensing data representative of objects in the scene and to identify tracks corresponding to the objects. The processor is further configured to process the received sensing data to generate a track descriptor associated with each of the identified objects, each track descriptor being representative of attributes of the corresponding object. The processor is also configured to analyze track descriptors associated with tracks when a wireless tag is present in the target scene. The processor is further configured to determine tracks associated the wireless tags based on the track descriptors present in the scene.

Detection and identification systems for humans or objects

A system includes a sensor and a remote processing and storage component in communication with the sensor. The sensor generates sensor data indicative of the presence of people or objects in a scene. The remote processing and storage component receives the sensor data from the sensor and performs an automated counting process to determine an automated count of people or objects. The component receives a request to perform a validation process for the sensor. The component also generates and transmits a link to a manual validation page that includes an interface for performing a manual count. The component further receives an indication to start a validation process from the manual validation page, generates an automated count value from the performed automated counting process, and receives manual count data. The component also generates a validation report based on the automated count value and the manual count data.

Validation systems and methods for human or object detection

Some systems include an illuminator configured to illuminate a scene, a detector configured to receive electromagnetic radiation from the scene, one or more retroreflective tags, and an image processor. Each of the one or more retroreflective tags is attached to or positioned near a corresponding target and is configured to reflect electromagnetic radiation from the illuminator toward the detector. The image processor can identify electromagnetic radiation reflected by one or more retroreflective tags to determine the presence of one or more retroreflective tags and corresponding targets in the scene. Retroreflective tags can include retroreflective portions and non-retroreflective portions such that, when electromagnetic radiation is incident upon the retroreflective tag, the retroreflective tag reflects the electromagnetic radiation in a pattern that corresponds to a code uniquely corresponding to the target. An image processor can determine the presence of a target based on identifying the unique code of the retroreflective tag.

Systems for detecting occupancy of an area comprising one or more zones can include one or more sensors and one or more processors configured to receive sensor data from the one or more sensors over time. The one or more processors can be further configured to receive or store data about an arrangement of the zones in the area. The one or more processors can apply a probabilistic model considering the sensor data received over time to determine the number of subjects in each zone by determining a most likely current state of occupancy of the area among a plurality of possible scenarios.

Apparatus and method for occupancy detection

A system for counting objects in a queue waiting for service at one of a plurality of electronic points of service 'EPOSs' includes an object tracking system and a processor system for processing data. The processor system may have memory means storing data indicative of the positions of each of said EPOSs within a service point area, and be adapted to receive data from each EPOS indicating its operational status and to receive from said tracking system data relating to positions of objects within the service point area. The method of counting objects in a queue comprises firstly determining an initial seed location as a point at which a single queue of objects forms. Then, determining a new seed location as a point at which the single queue forms Once the new seed location is determined, tracked objects may be assigned to the single queue and then counted.

Systems and methods are directed toward occupancy detection in a predefined space including one or more sub-zones. Occupancy of the predefined space can be determined by determining the occupancy of an outer zone comprising the predefined space, and determining the occupancy of individual sub-zones to the outer zone. Occupancy values of the individual sub-zones can be rescaled such that the sum of the individual sub-zones occupancies sum to the already determined outer zone occupancy. The occupancy of the predefined space then may be determined using the rescaled occupancies of the various sub-zones included in the predefined space. Such processes can be repeated for individual sub-zones, which may be treated as a separate outer zone including one or more sub-zones.
