A ceramic metal halide lamp wherein the halide dose includes the following component ranges in mol/cm: Nal: 1.84&#xd7;10-5 to 2.33&#xd7;10-5, Lnl3: 5.20&#xd7;10-6 to 6.60&#xd7;10-6, Tl: 1.76&#xd7;10-7 to 2.23&#xd7;10-7, wherein Ln are lanthanide elements, and further includes a halide dosage weight of between 0.40 to 0.77.

Ceramic metal halide lamp

An electrodeless discharge lamp comprises a sealed discharge vessel containing a fill capable of sustaining a discharge when suitably energized, and circuitry for energizing a solenoid to produce an RF electromagnetic field in the vessel to energize the fill. A light transmissive, inherently conductive, polymer layer is provided on the exterior of the discharge vessel for confining the RF field within the lamp. An outer, insulating layer may also be provided over the conductive layer.

Electrodeless discharge lamp

The envelope (6) of a light source is at least partly coated with electrochromic material (20), sandwiched between two conductive layers (21,22). A voltage applied to the electrochromic material by way of the conductive layers varies the intensity and/or color of the light from the source.
