A hydraulic hammer comprising a housing () with a longitudinal bore (), cylinder sleeve () supported in the bore () a rear and cover () closing the bore (), and a hammer piston () reciprocally powered in the cylinder sleeve () for delivering blows to a working implement inserted in the guide sleeve () mounted at the front end of the bore (). The hydraulic hammer also comprises a distribution valve (), for directing pressure fluid to the hammer piston (), communicating the pressure fluid source and the cylinder sleeve (). The valve () comprises both a clearance seal means () and a seat seal () for improved tightness.

A portable power tool includes a housing, and an impact mechanism movably supported in the housing and having a front opening for receiving a working implement and a hammer piston for delivering hammer blows to the working implement. The impact mechanism is supported in the housing by a pivot device in a point located between the forward and rear ends of the impact mechanism and allowing longitudinal and pivotal movements but preventing in the support point radial and rotational movements of the impact mechanism relative to the housing. A resilient device is located at a distance from the pivot device and is arranged to bias the impact mechanism to a neutral position relative to the housing and to absorb vibration movements of the impact mechanism to protect the housing against such vibration movements.

A hydraulic breaker hammer includes a housing with a longitudinal bore, a cylinder sleeve, and a rear end cover engaging the cylinder sleeve. A hammer piston is reciprocally powered in the cylinder sleeve for delivering blows to a working implement inserted in a guide sleeve at the front end of the bore. The guide sleeve is provided with radial openings for communication of lubricant from a lubricant supply passage in the housing to the inside of the guide sleeve and the guide sleeve is provided with external seal rings forming annular compartments located between the lubricant supply passage and the radial openings for spreading lubricant on the outside surface of the guide sleeve.

A hydraulic percussive machine, for example a jack hammer or a rock drill, has an accumulator with a flexible diaphram (35). A lift valve (40, 41, 42) closes the outlet of the accumulator if the flow exceeds the normal flow substantially and it traps a volume of oil between the diaphragm and the valve when it closes.

A cylinder (15) is reciprocable in the housing (11) of a hydraulic percussive tool and a piston hammer (16) is reciprocable in the cylinder. The force between the cylinder and the housing is constant during the cycle of reciprocation and as a result the housing (11) is practically not vibrating at all. The piston hammer (16) and the cylinder (15) are coupled together to move conjointly during a part of each forward stroke of the hammer piston, which ensures the timing of the reciprocation of the hammer piston 16 and the cylinder (15).

A hydraulically operated impact motor, e.g. for a jack hammer, has a hammer piston that has a piston surface 19 in a pressure chamber 21 which is constantly pressurized in order to effect the work strokes of the hammer piston, and a larger piston surface 20 in a second pressure chamber 21 which is intermittently pressurized in order to effect the return strokes of the hammer piston. The second pressure chamber 22 is also connected to the exhaust line via a one-way valve that permits flow towards the second pressure chamber 22.
