A skimming and separation device includes an outer casing () having constructions to directly or indirectly fasten all parts, including a number of inflow tubes (), and defining a closed container (). The device includes a floater () configured to create a skimming function. The floater is attached at its lower side to an essentially vertically arranged bellow () allowing the floater to adapt flow into a substantially circum volume that is allowing flow in a downward direction into the inflow tubes (), which allow debris and floating pollutions to enter below the accumulated debris and floating pollutions to preferably set the internal fluid inside the casing () in horizontal circular rotational motion as a result of a power device (). The power device is controlled by a control unit such that various kinds of flows and pressures may be generated to control the in-flow and out-flow of the device.

Skimming and separation device

The present invention relates to an energy transforming unit adapted to convert reciprocating forces into rotating axle movements on at least one force transmitting axle and/or into electrical power. The unit comprises at least one restriction device which is directly connected to the force and which is arranged to forward the incoming reciprocating forces into a movement over at least one conversion module. The energy transforming unit is characterized in that the at least one restriction device is delimiting one, by the energy transforming unit enclosed reciprocating volume which entirely or partly passes through the at least one conversion module. The reciprocating volume can comprise a non-compressible fluid arranged to forward the incoming forces into a reciprocating fluid movement over the at least one conversion module and/or the reciprocating volume can comprise at least one mechanical force transmitting arrangement adapted to the at least one conversion module. The unit further comprises a compact central unit which at least partly encloses the at least one conversion module.

Energy transforming unit and energy transforming system comprising such a unit

The present invention relates to an energy transforming unit adapted to convert reciprocating forces (Fl) into rotating axle movements on at least one force transmitting axle and/or into electrical power. The unit comprises at least one restriction device () which is directly connected to the force and which is arranged to forward the incoming reciprocating forces (Fl) into a movement over at least one conversion module (-, Cm). The energy transforming unit is characterized in that the at least one restriction device () is delimiting one, by the energy transforming unit enclosed reciprocating volume which entirely or partly passes through the at least one conversion module (-, Cm). The reciprocating volume can comprise a non-compressible fluid arranged to forward the incoming forces into a reciprocating fluid movement over the at least one conversion module (-, Cm) and/or the reciprocating volume can comprise at least one mechanical force transmitting arrangement adapted to the at least one conversion module. The unit further comprises a compact central unit (-) which at least partly encloses the at least one conversion module.

State machine interface system, comprising state machine algorithms and a graphical user interface, adapted to receive signals from at least one sensor device, that are related to physiological activities of the heart and/or the circulatory system of a living being. The state machine algorithms are adapted to determine phases of heart cycles based upon said signals. The different phases of the heart cycle are determined by said state machine algorithms in a heart cluster state machine simulating the heart, and optionally the circulatory system, achieved by fusions of finite heart muscle cell state machines to form a &#x394;V-pump state machine. The determined heart cycle phases are evaluated by determining their respective local state diagram based upon said signal such that the respective correct time duration is determined for each heart cycle phase, and then determining the most representative global state diagram. The determined local and global state diagrams are presented at the graphical user interface such that the temporal relations between the different phases are illustrated.

During collection of pollutants having a density lower than that of water and carried by a surface layer of a body of water, water of the surface layer is caused to flow into and through a collection vessel having a separation compartment with a top wall, pollutants entrained by the inflowing surface layer water are allowed to collect gravimetrically as a supernatant layer carried beneath the top wall of the separation compartment on water in the separation compartment, and changes of the weight of the collection vessel in the body of water are monitored. Intake and discharge phases may be initiated and terminated to in response to the said weight reaching predetermined values.

A reusable electrode holder and associated disposable electrode unit are provided. The holder retains the electrode therein and is connectable to a vacuum source for holding the electrode against a patient's skin with vacuum suction. The holder is also connectable to an electrical lead for connection to the electrode unit. The holder has a resilient cap which is moveable to actuate a valve to open communication through the holder from the vacuum source to a chamber adjacent the skin. To prevent the transfer of contaminants from the skin to reusable parts of the holder, a first contaminant absorber is provided within a housing of the holder and a second contaminant absorber is provided as part of the electrode unit. A second valve can be provided which is actuatable to close vacuum communication when second absorber expands to a threshold contamination condition.

A fluid valve device for on-off control of fluid flow through a passage extending between two fluid ports (12, 15) and including a valve seat (17A) comprises a hollow valve member (21) which is movable into and out of sealing engagement with the valve seat and defines a valve chamber (20). The valve chamber (20) communicates with one of the fluid ports (15) through the valve seat (17A) and is associated with a valve member actuating device (A) which translates the pressure of the fluid received in the valve chamber (20) from an inlet (12/14) for the fluid flow into a force acting on the valve member to displace it relative to the valve seat (17A). The valve member actuating device in one embodiment includes a thrust surface (A) on the valve member (21) which is directed away from the valve seat and forms part of the wall of the valve chamber (20). A second thrust surface (C) on the valve member (21) is directed oppositely and defines a chamber (V) which is isolated from the valve chamber and the flow passage. A positive-displacement pump includes the fluid valve device as an inlet valve for controlling the admission into the pump chamber (20) of the fluid being pumped.
