A radar level gauge system for determining a topographic property of a product, comprising a transceiver; a signal transfer element coupled to the transceiver and configured to emit an electromagnetic transmit signal from the transceiver in an emission direction; a propagating member for propagating the transmit signal towards the surface of the product and a reflection signal back towards the transceiver, the propagating member being movably arranged in relation to the signal transfer element and configured to deflect the transmit signal; an elastic system coupled to the signal transfer element and to the propagating member, and arranged to define at least one property of an oscillating movement of the propagating member in relation to the signal transfer element; an actuator arranged to initiate the oscillating movement; and processing circuitry coupled to the transceiver for determining the topographic property based on the transmit signal and the reflection signal.

Radar level gauge with elastic system

A radar level gauge system include a transceiver; an antenna; a hollow waveguide for guiding the transmit signal from a first end facing the transceiver towards a second end facing the antenna; a housing including a heat-dissipating structure arranged at a first distance from the second end; a first thermal connection between the hollow waveguide and the heat-dissipating structure; and a second thermal connection between the hollow waveguide and the housing arranged at a second distance, shorter than the first distance, from the second end. The first and second thermal connection are arranged such that a thermal resistance of a first heat conduction path from the second end of the hollow waveguide through the first thermal connection to the heat-dissipating structure, is lower than a thermal resistance of a second heat conduction path from the second end of the hollow waveguide through the second thermal connection to the housing.

Radar level gauge system with improved heat dissipation

A filling level determination system, for determining a filling level of a product in a tank, comprising a measurement unit for arrangement at a measurement position, the measurement unit including a transceiver; and an antenna arrangement coupled to the transceiver for radiating an electromagnetic transmit signal generated by the transceiver from the measurement position towards a target position on the tank wall, and for returning an electromagnetic first reflection signal resulting from reflection of the transmit signal at the target position back towards the transceiver; and processing circuitry coupled to the transceiver of the measurement unit and being configured to determine the filling level based on tank deformation data indicative of a known relation between the level of the product in the tank and deformation of the tank at the first target position, and a timing relation between the first transmit signal and the first reflection signal.

Non-intrusive contactless filling level determination system and method

A radar level gauging arrangement for performing radar level gauging in a tank having a tank wall which is impermeable to a product held in the tank and transmissive to radar signals, comprising an attachment device configured to be secured to a substantially flat portion of said tank wall, without penetration of the tank wall, and a radar level gauge including a directional antenna, the radar level gauge being mounted to the attachment device, such that, when said attachment device is secured against the tank wall, the directional antenna is positioned so as to enable transmission of radar signals through the tank wall. By mounting a radar level gauge to an attachment device which can be secured to the tank wall without penetrating the tank wall, radar level gauging can thus be provided without damaging or interfering with the tank.

Non-invasive radar level gauge

A radar level gauge for determining the filling level of a product in a tank, comprising a transceiver for transmitting and receiving microwaves, processing circuitry connected to the transceiver and adapted to determine the filling level, an antenna connected to said transceiver and arranged to emit and receive microwaves through an opening of the tank, and a microwave transmissive sealing member adapted to cover said opening and to provide pressure sealing of the tank. The sealing member comprises a metal grid layer providing structural strength, which metal grid layer has sealed openings formed to allow transmission of microwaves. The tank opening is thus divided into a number of smaller openings by the metal grid, thereby improving the mechanical strength of the sealing member. At the same time, the sealing member is designed to maintain its pressure sealing properties, e.g. by suitable dielectric filling of the openings.
