A temperature sensor assembly for measuring temperature of a fluid in a conduit, the assembly comprising a temperature sensor and a thermowell housing the temperature sensor and embedded in a wall defining the conduit. The thermowell has a face for interfacing the fluid that is substantially non-intrusive relative the conduit and a groove that extends radially inward of the thermowell housing to minimize the cross-sectional area of the thermowell body proximate the location of the temperature sensor.

Temperature sensor assembly

An apparatus includes a seabed-disposed pump that includes an inlet to receive a fluid flow and an outlet. The apparatus includes a liquid retainer that is adapted to receive a fluid flow that is produced by a subsea well. The liquid retainer selectively retains and releases liquid from the fluid flow to regulate a gas volume fraction of the fluid flow that is received at the inlet of the pump.

An apparatus includes a subsea flow line and a two stage heat exchanger. The subsea flow line communicates a process flow that is associated with a subsea well, and the heat exchanger transfers thermal energy between the process flow and an ambient sea. The heat exchanger includes a primary circuit in communication with the flow line to transfer thermal energy with the process flow; and the heat exchanger includes a secondary circuit in thermal communication with the primary circuit to transfer thermal energy with the primary circuit.

Regulating the temperature of a subsea process flow

System and methods are configured to adjust fluid pressure within a barrier fluid system on a subsea fluid processing machine. More specifically, a barrier fluid pressure system is located at the subsea location and includes a barrier fluid pressure regulator module having one input communicating or being pressure matched with a process fluid flowline and a second input communicating with the barrier fluid pressure system. The pressure regulator module is configured to locally adjust the barrier fluid pressure depending upon the fluid process pressure.

Barrier fluid pressure system and method

Systems and methods for controlled equalization of fluid pressure are described. The system can include a flow restricting nozzle in line with an accumulator which together provide a gradual, controlled equalization of pressure between two locations. For example, in the subsea environment, the pressures can vary between a subsea processing station and a subsea flow line. The systems can be configured as ROV retrievable, or they can be integrated into the subsea processing station. In some cases, more than one accumulator and/or more than one flow restricting nozzles can be used in the system to provide for versatility and robustness.

Controlled pressure equalization

An actuatable apparatus, such as a mixer or flow splitter, is described that forms part of a multiphase pumping station. An outer tank has an upper inlet and an actuatable inner vessel disposed within the outer vessel. Multiphase fluid can pass from the outer vessel into the inner vessel though large upper openings. The inner vessel is configured to be actuatable such that the inner vessel moves in a vertical direction, thereby altering the size of an annular opening between the bottom of the inner vessel and the outer vessel. In some cases, the annular opening is adjusted to alter the operating envelope of a mixer. In other cases, the annular opening is opened to allow for sand cleaning. In yet other cases the apparatus is a downstream flow splitter, and the annulus is shut off to prevent loss of liquid phase during the startup of a dead field.

A method for removing hydrate plugs in a hydrocarbon production station, the method comprising: fluidically isolating the production station; diverting production flow to a bypass line; and adjusting the pressure in the production station to a level sufficient to melt the hydrate plugs.

Method and apparatus for removing hydrate plugs

There is disclosed a subsea cooler for the cooling of a fluid flowing in a subsea flow line. The subsea cooler comprises an inlet and an outlet which are connectable to the subsea flow line and at least two cooling sections arranged in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet of the subsea cooler. Each cooling section includes a plurality of cooling pipes which are configured such that they exchange heat energy with the surrounding sea water when the subsea cooler is in use. The subsea cooler is further provided with valve means such that the flow of fluid through the cooling sections may be regulated individually. There is also disclosed a method for removal of accumulated wax, hydrates and sand and debris which has accumulated in the subsea cooler wherein separate cooling section are shut off whereby the temperature of the fluid flowing through the subsea cooler is increased thereby melting the wax and hydrates, and whereby the speed of the fluid flow through the subsea cooler is increased thereby jetting out sand and debris.

Subsea cooler and method for cleaning the subsea cooler

There is provided a subsea system for increasing pressure and/or flow rate in a flow line, the subsea system being arranged in fluid communication with said flow line which receives fluid from at least one fluid source. The subsea system comprises at least one compressor or pump and at least one subsea cooler which is arranged in the flow line in series with the at least one compressor. The subsea system further comprises a recirculation line which is configured such that at least a portion of the fluid flowing in the flow line downstream the at least one compressor and the at least one subsea cooler may be recirculated back to the flow line upstream the at least one compressor and the at least one subsea cooler such that the recirculating line can be used for capacity regulation of the at least one compressor and cleaning of the at least one subsea cooler. There is also provided a method for the removal of wax and/or hydrate and/or sand and debris which has accumulated in at least one subsea cooler of a subsea system.
