An electromagnetic switch for the starter of a heat engine, including a first terminal (B), a second terminal (B), a first mobile contact (C) which is movable between an inactive position and a power supply position, and at least one second mobile contact (C), which is placed between the first mobile contact (C) and the second terminal (B) and which is movable between a disconnected position and a connected position. The switch is capable of being placed in three operating states: an inactive state, an engagement state, and a power supply state.

A DC electric rotating machine mainly for the starter of an automotive vehicle, including: a stator having a magnetized structure with permanent magnetization and extending along the circumference of the stator; a rotor; a set of brushes adapted for the electric supply of the rotor by switching the electrical current in sections of the rotor; wherein the magnetized structure () of the stator includes at least one sector, between two consecutive magnetic poles (N; S) of the magnetized structure, having a magnetization vector that varies in an essentially sinusoidal manner upon displacement on the stator circumference, and wherein the angular deviation of the neutral line is selected so as to improve the switching during the operation of the machine.

The invention describes a starter wherein the second front bearing is inserted axially between the armature windings and the speed reducer. This configuration helps solve the problem that the operating forces of known starter armature shafts are too great for the armature shaft guide ring to withstand long term intensive stresses. The structure includes a supporting section of the armature shaft received in the front bearing, the supporting section being of an outside diameter greater than or equal to the other sections of the armature shaft; the front bearing forms a sealed baffle between the armature windings and the planetary gear speed reducer; the electric motor is housed in a cylindrical frame, coaxial with the armature shaft, the front bearing being centered directly with respect to the frame by radial support against the internal cylindrical face of the front peripheral edge of the frame.

A contactor including a plunger core (), a pull-in winding (L), a holding winding (L), a moving contact plate (CM) and three contacts (PC+, PC, PC). The contactor has three operating states: a first state with no electrical contact between the contacts, a second state with electrical contact between first and second contacts and a third state with electrical contact between the first, second and third contact. The contactor also includes an electrically controllable micro-actuator (MS) to allow or prohibit, depending on the electric current which is applied thereto, commutation between the second and third operating states, the commutation being prohibited by the micro-actuator due to a force counteracting a thrust of the moving contact plate when the micro-actuator is electrically excited. Preferably, the micro-actuator is a micro-solenoid.

The electronic control device includes a first transistor commutation (T, T, CZ, RC, RC, SL) to control the excitation of a pull-in winding (L) of the contactor and a second transistor commutation (T, CZ, RC) to control the excitation of the micro-actuator. The second transistor commutation controls the excitation of the micro-actuator (MS) for a predetermined duration after activation of the electronic control device.
