Disclosed herein is a catheter for plaque stabilisation by cryotherapy, the catheter comprising: a first tube with a first end for receiving a flow of a coolant and a second end for supplying the flow of the coolant to a cooling element; a second tube, with a first end and a second end, wherein the second end of the second tube is configured to receive a flow of the coolant from the cooling element such that the second tube provides a flow path of the coolant from the second end of the second tube to the first end of the second tube; an inflatable flexible heat transfer element on the outer surface of the catheter; and a conduit for supplying an inflation fluid for inflating the flexible heat transfer element, wherein, when the flexible heat transfer element is inflated by the inflation fluid, the cooling element is configured to be within the balloon and in thermal conductivity with the inflation fluid; wherein the cooling element comprises an elongate tubular wall defining an elongate cooling chamber therein, the cooling chamber has a first end that is in fluid communication with the second end of the second tube and the cooling chamber has a second end that is closed.

Catheter for plaque stabilisation

A catheter is provided comprising a flexible heat transfer element provided on an outer surface of the catheter, a conduit arranged to supply an inflation fluid for inflating the flexible heat transfer element so as to form an inflated balloon, a guide wire lumen for receiving a guide wire, and an elongate cooling element arranged to cool said inflation fluid for inflating the balloon. Said cooling element and said guide wire lumen are arranged inside the flexible heat transfer element such that, when inflated the cooling element is substantially central within the balloon and said guide wire lumen is parallel to and radially offset from the cooling element.

Balloon catheter

An exemplary infusion set includes a tubing, a first connector, and a second connector. The first connector connects a first terminus of the tubing to an exit port of an infusion pump, providing fluid communication between fluid being conveyed by the infusion pump and the tubing. The second connector connects a second terminus of the tubing to a delivery module, providing fluid communication between the tubing and the delivery module. Full engagement of the first connector and the exit port of the infusion pump actuates operation of the infusion pump.

Infusion set

A catheter is provided comprising a flexible heat transfer element provided on an outer surface of the catheter. The catheter further comprises a conduit arranged to supply an inflation fluid for inflating the flexible heat transfer element so as to form an inflated balloon, and a plurality of cooling elements arranged to cool the inflation fluid for inflating the balloon. Each cooling element comprises a first tube provided inside a second tube, wherein the first tube is substantially parallel to the second tube. The second tube is configured to receive a flow of a coolant for cooling the cooling element from the first tube.

A catheter for insertion into a blood vessel, the catheter having a sampling part arranged to capture a blood sample at a plurality of locations along a length of the blood vessel and an apparatus arranged to analyze blood taken from a plurality of locations along the length of the blood vessel and to provide a profile of concentration levels along the length of the blood vessel.

The present invention provides a catheter apparatus for temperature measurement of vascular tissue, comprising a flexible body, at least one resiliently biased projection depended from the body, a sensor carried by the projection and an electrical carrier for transmitting data from the sensor to a remote device, wherein the projection, in a deployed configuration, adopts an arcuate shape along at least part of its length, wherein the gradient of the arcuate portion of the projection, with respect to the longitudinal axis of the catheter, increases as a function of distance along the projection from the end attached to the catheter body.

Biased vascular temperature measuring device

The present invention provides a vascular catheter apparatus for temperature measurement of vascular tissue, comprising a flexible body, at least one resiliently biased projection depended from the body, a sensor carried by the projection and an electrical carrier for transmitting temperature data at the vascular wall from the sensor to a remote device. The electrical carrier may be coiled around the length of the projection to reduce the strain at critical points where it is necessary to maintain a seal and hence electrical isolation.
